Cloud And Data Center Operators Investing Heavily In Security
FREMONT, CA : Research by Infonetics, a Market research agency shows that the cloud and data center operators are investing heavily on the security systems to survive in the highly competent cloud market. A survey conducted by them, interviewed data center and cloud operators across the globe to understand their tactics in arranging security in the data center and their ratings of security vendors.
To remain spirited against other players in the industry, it has become imperative that they provide foolproof security system for cloud services, especially after all that nosing around by NSA for stealing data from prominent data centers (elaborate)
"The primary concern right now among service providers operating data centers is getting the security infrastructure to match the performance of the network infrastructure," said Jeff Wilson, principal analyst for security at Infonetics Research.
The key highlights of the survey include operators’ serious plan to opt for the traditional firewalls and DDoS prevention system. Around 2/3rd of survey respondents have been seen to require firewalls that support 100gigabyte(G) to 499G with another needing over 500G. It discloses certain security products designed for cloud and data centers that will push the boundaries of threat protection, performance, functionality, flexibility, feature integration, and management. They are also keenly watching the impact of the software defined networking and security options. For respondents setting up virtual security appliances, the drivers have moved away from visibility and management functions to security.
Thus survey brings out the results that include the ones that position themselves through a mix of the right products, an impressive track record for security efficacy, a great solutions or integration offering, and the ability to influence adjacent potency to lead the market.
