ACG Research Awards Breakthrough Innovation Product of the Year to Big Switch Networks' Cloud Fabric 3.0
SANTA CLARA, CA: Computer Networking firm, Big Switch Networks has been awarded with the Breakthrough Innovation Product of the Year Award for its Flagship Product Big Cloud Fabric 3.0 by ACG Research. The product was selected for the award based on its excellent service offering on the core vision of Software-Defined Network (SDN).
Big Cloud Fabric (BCF) is the data center fabric built using white box or brite-box switches and SDN controller technology and is available in two editions, P Fabric Edition and P+V Fabric Edition. While, P Fabric Edition is a spine physical Clos fabric controlled by the Big Cloud Fabric SDN controller. P+V Fabric Edition is a spine and virtual switch fabric, controlled by the Big Cloud Fabric SDN controller. BCF is open software, running on low-cost, high performance merchant silicon switches from multiple white box partners. It is open for extension and integration of optimization applications such as Fabric Analytics to collect traffic data and implement it to perform network optimizations directly. "The Breakthrough Innovation Product award demonstrates Big Switch's core SDN vision and its value proposition, which will resonate powerfully with its customers and business partners," says Ray Mota, CEO, ACG Research
BCF helps data center infrastructure developers to automate their cloud base with 16x faster configuration and upgrades and 4x faster application deployment. Furthermore, it makes the physical underlay network both efficient and programmable. BCF's overlay virtual network supports consistent policy deployments in a unified cloud computing fabric and is programmable in the same manner as the physical underlay network.
BCF's SDN controller allows integration with applications like Fabric Analytics to collect traffic data and optimize networking performance directly. "We are excited to receive the 2015 ACG Omega Award for Breakthrough Innovation Product of the Year," says Douglas Murray, CEO, Big Switch Networks.
