FREMONT, CA: Advantech Wireless recently released the Second Generation Gallium Nitride (GaN) Technology based 400W Ku-Band SapphireBlu Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA)/ Solid State Power Block (SSPB) which supports Ultra HD, and is enabled with DVB-S2X.

Today with significant increase in number users of High Definition (HD) and ultra High Definition (UHD) services also indicates more number of service providers catering to almost every household across the globe. Having several service providers in the satellite broadband communication sector of which a significant number of these service providers are in the teleport broadcast arena.

Content distributors leverage Advantech Wireless’ technology expertise to make the most of their resources by maximizing quality and reach, while minimizing operational costs.

The Second Generation of GaN based Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPAs)/ Block Up Converter's (BUCs) continues the development roadmap introduced by Advantech Wireless back in 2010. These GaN based units provide a 60 percent increase in Linear Transmit Power, without any increase in size or weight.

“These Ultra Linear GaN based SSPAs are designed to operate in harsh outdoor environments, and to replace multiple indoor combined Klystrons or TWTs. The consequent low OPEX cost, allows in most of the cases to recover the initial investment just in 1 or 2 years of energy consumption savings. It is an ideal solution to upgrade older teleports and to increase their profitability in an extremely competitive environment, while bringing on board technology that is DVB-S2X and Ultra HD ready,” states Cristi Damian, VP Business Development, Advantech Wireless.
