Ardent to Deploy Epic's Solutions to Enhance Patient Information System
NASHVILLE, TN: Ardent Health Services, a provider of quality healthcare services, has chosen Epic, a provider of electronic health record software, to offer practitioners with a stronger patient information system across all its hospitals and clinics.
Patient information systems track individual health problems and treatments giving detailed information into diagnosis and treatment to the patient while improving delivery of services. This is particularly useful in case of chronic diseases like diabetes, where a record of treatment and recovery over a period is crucial. Analysis of this data allows for understanding health and diseases.
Epic’s single platform will replace 80 information systems used across various facilities of Ardent. The platform encompasses patient engagement, clinical data repository, interoperability, and population health management. The platform enables physicians to deliver safe and high quality care through predictive analytics and embedded decision support tools. It also helps tracking finances and speed up payment with paperless billing, payment plans, and estimates. Additionally, Ardent will adopt Epic’s MyChart software that will allow patients to find family health and personal information at their fingertips. The software further helps patients to attend e-visits, schedule appointments, and message doctors regarding their health issues.
Subsequently, Epic will boost efficiencies of Ardent’s hospitals and clinics by streamlining services like clinical applications, billing, ehealth and registration. Ardent selected Epic after constant assessments of the software conducted by Ardent’s 500 staff members including practitioners, nurses, registration staff and discharge staff. Epic’s software is used by academic medical centers, retail clinics, multi specialty groups, and integrated delivery networks. Ardent will also join Epic community comprising of a number of heath systems for exchanging clinical data.
"We are very pleased to have Ardent join the Epic family after rigorous evaluations of functionality, total cost of ownership and long-term value. Ardent is a well-respected and innovative organization and we look forward to partnering with their clinicians and leadership in transforming care to provide superior outcomes for patients in the markets they serve," says Carl Dvorak, President, Epic.
