WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ: Catalogic Software, provider of Intelligent Data Protection Management solutions, recently announced extension of support for the new NetApp FAS8000 unified scale-out storage systems, new NetApp FlexArray virtualization software, and the latest release of clustered Data ONTAP. These additions are intended to help joint customers accelerate their move from legacy to cloud environments. Catalogic Software’s technology will complement NetApp’s new solutions to consolidate storage hardware and data protection on a common modern infrastructure, and further expand performance and manageability in customers’ on-premise and cloud deployments.

Catalogic Software is built on NetApp’s storage as part of the NSB solution and now supports the NetApp FAS8000 series. “The NetApp FAS8000 storage systems and intelligent Catalogic data protection solution supports larger datasets and helps to further drive down costs,” says Flavio Santoni, CEO at Catalogic Software. “CloudXL offers rapid cloud backup and recovery services using Catalogic Software with a remarkable one-hour recovery guarantee. Backup management overhead was reduced by 35 hours a week, freeing up valuable staff time.”

The NetApp FAS8000 series is the first enterprise storage system that unifies SAN, NAS and storage virtualization into a single hybrid array. It is NetApp’s first FAS platform designed specifically for scale-out storage environments built on clustered Data ONTAP. With NetApp’s new FlexArray virtualization software, NetApp V-Series functionality becomes a software option that can be licensed on the FAS8000. FlexArray enables the FAS8000 to virtualize and manage multi-vendor data storage platforms. The latest release of clustered Data ONTAP extends Non-Disruptive Operations (NDO) and improves data security and management of NAS and SAN environments.

“As customers adapt their IT operations to improve service delivery and embrace cloud mandates, they recognize the advantages of shared storage infrastructures,” says Mark Welke, Senior Director, Product Marketing at NetApp. “Our new FAS8000 series combined with Catalogic’s software enables customers to respond quickly to changing business needs help and eliminate the overprovisioning of people, time, and money.”
