Freescale Launches Vortiqa SDN Solutions

FREMONT, CA: Freescale, a provider of solutions to networking and communications industries has launched its VortiQa Software Defined Networking solutions, to optimize the run on current and future generation free scale QorIQ multi core communications processors, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The software comes with pre-integrated, commercial-grade OpenFlow-compatible data plane software, by which the original equipment manufacturers and original design manufacturers, gain confidence in designing high-performance, optimized SDN system-level solutions. The software is engineered to help QorIQ, a complete system processing platforms on chip processors for networking application customers, to shorten design cycles and improve the manageability of networks.

VortiQa SDN solutions establish a primary building block for the design of SDN and enterprise network equipment like secure routers and gateways depending on Freescale communications processors. With the help of this, cloud deployments like private, public and hybrid clouds and Networking solutions for data center will also benefit. The VortiQa SDN solution is compatible with the OpenFlow 1.3.X open standard and extends to cover protocols layer 4 and above.
