NEW YORK, NY: Barely three months after its launch, Giga Entertainment Media’s (GEM) app –SELFEO captured the #1 rank among multitasking apps for iPhones (5th rank for iPads) in the App store (based on analytics for the 3rd week of March 2016). The app is also available in the Google play store and has adopted a unique approach that offers a platform for users to voice their opinion on web content (videos, write ups etc.) The popularity of the app has surpassed the company’s previous multitasking app Viewer. Based on the user rating and comments, the app holds good potential to be the next social media trend mimicking the waves created by apps such as Dubsmash. However, as many users point, the app has to go a long way to capture more audience but is evidently gaining momentum.

“There is no other multitasking platform even close to SELFEO. Every platform shift leads to new forms of communication, driven by our desire to connect and interact in richer ways,” said Jarret Streiner, CEO of Giga Entertainment Media. “SELFEO is an imaginative and pioneering new way to communicate, blending the simplicity of digital socializing with the emotion and immediacy of live video, to make your experience spontaneous and real” he added.

Selfeo enables users to record their take on web content by offering a dedicated window alongside the content, through which the user’s views may be broadcasted or streamed live. The app is also enhanced with tools to change one’s voice or look apart from providing avatars and cartoons to engage users in a fun oriented manner. Videos that demonstrate the use of the Selfeo and its features are featured in the apps official website which makes it easier for users to go up and running with the app.

GEM is a multimedia technology company that offers an “Interactive Digital Distribution Platform” that can function as an app on tablets and a web portal for use on laptops and smart TVs, with versions for OSX, iOS, Android, and Windows.
