Gener8 Acquires 48 Percent Interest in Reelhouse Media
FREMONT,CA: Gener8, a media technology company, has acquired a 48 percent interest in the Reelhouse Media by converting a promissory note of $1.125 million into its shares.
Reelhouse Media founded in November 2012, is a Vancouver start-up with a direct-to-consumer film distribution platform attracting the attention of the independent film community as well as major Hollywood studios.
With the help of Reelhouse, independent filmmakers can reach audiences directly, gain a larger revenue share, generate additional revenue through physical and digital merchandising opportunities and access a tightly-knit and supportive community for Crowdfunding.
From pre-theatrical to post-theatrical release, Reelhouse provides the required infrastructure to the larger studios to market a film efficiently. By giving a film one home during its lifecycle and capturing valuable data at each stage, this platform helps in shifting consumer behavior from a digital film renter to a buyer. According to data released by Digital Entertainment Group, digital movie purchases surged 47 percent in 2013 to $1.19 billion.
