FREMONT, CA: Gooee, an operating platform connects lighting manufacturers to the Internet of Things (IoT). The platform focuses on designing, engineering and supply of hardware, software and data management components across the LED lighting value chain firms. The gateway provides sensing, control and communicating components that integrate with an enterprise scale cloud platform.

The gateway supports multiple communicating protocols including Bluetooth, Zigbee and Wi-Fi chips for wireless communication. The Ethernet and serial port provides maximum interoperability options with cloud-based services.

The Bluetooth Mesh, engineered for its lighting and sensing endpoints, has the capability to handle the bandwidth by sensing the volume of data through Gooee’s ASIC(Application specific Integrated Circuit). Gooee creates a device to compliment the Gateway by extending the range and device count the gateway can support. The ‘Puck’ is a Power-over-Ethernet to Bluetooth extender device that runs the Mesh protocol and works with the gateway to extend the mesh range and increase the number of end-points that are managed by the gateway.

The gateway is featured in an ARM-based processor through a local and secured RESTful API and MQTT over WebSockets, and a localized secure app-container that allows third-party service integrations.

“Ensuring we can handle the wide range of environments is critical, so having offline capabilities with a local, security conscious API, and a distributed multi-gateway environment means we offer our customer’s better performance levels found within costly on-premise hardware,”says Simon Coombes, Chief Technology Officer, Gooee.
