GWAVA Releases Retain 4 with Advanced Search Tool and High Performance Indexing Engine for Rapid Data Retrieval
FREMONT, CA: GWAVA, a provider of archiving and eDiscovery for communication data announces the release of Retain 4, the latest version of Retain Unified Archiving. The release includes a revamped user interface, an advanced search tool, a Retain High Performance Indexing Engine along with message deletion.
As the enterprise storage marketplace is evolving drastically, organizations and regulations are emphasizing on the management of electronic communication data to make it readily and easily accessible. The shift is towards making corporate communication data archives into an active data source to leverage information within the organization and the trend is called Archiving 2.0.
Retain is a unified Archiving 2.0 suite that primarily focuses on email archiving for Microsoft Exchange and Office 365. It includes native support for archiving Gmail and Novell GroupWise email. The service archives electronic business communication including data created on mobile devices and manages social media, instant messages, and internet web searches as well as built-in content filtering and URL blocking. It archives instant message data for Lync/Skype for Business, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo Messenger, Google Chat, and Google Hangouts.
Retain captures and archives end-user web searches for search engines and web services including Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube, and Wikipedia. It also provides native support for iCAS technology that bundles the archive data with the corresponding metadata in special archive containers. These are secured against manipulation and unauthorized deletion. The Retention times required by law are managed flexibly by iCAS. Files that have reached the retention date and are not on legal hold can be securely deleted according to Department of Defense (DOD) guidelines. Retain 4 also offers functionality to fulfill the demands of Archiving 2.0 by providing access to archived data from one central location.
The High Performance Indexing Engine ensures fast and easy data retrieval. All the messages archived in Retain are immediately available for access, search, and eDiscovery. Offering near zero latency between the time a message is archived and when it is indexed and available to be searched, the high performance index has the ability to support an unlimited amount of search requests. The external engine is available in a load balancing format for increased performance, or in a failover format for redundancy. The engine can be used in the load balancing or failover format, or both, depending on an organization’s needs.
