Hortonworks Recognizes Zettaset Big Data Encryption Suite
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Zettaset, a provider of enterprise-class data protection for Hadoop distributions and NoSQL databases earned an unprecedented triple HDP (Hortonworks Data Platform) certification from Hortonworks for its Big Data Encryption suite. The suite is a data-centric protection for big data environment and incorporates BDEncrypt and BDEncrypt Plus, which are the exclusive commercial encryption solutions for Hadoop to encounter unauthorized data damaging and safeguarding the integrity of encrypted data. Hortonworks reassesses the certified technologies on the basis of their architectural best practices, authenticated integration test cases, benchmarked for scale under diverse workloads and comprehensively documented.
Big data planning for customers becomes easier through Hortonworks “Product Integration Certification” as it delivers pre-built and validated alliance between preeminent enterprise technologies and Hortonworks solutions. Hortonworks, a connected data platform for powering modern data applications that deliver actionable intelligence from all data: data-in-motion and data-at-rest, also assures that big data solutions like BDEncrypt and BDEncrypt Plus from ODPi-member Zettaset are symmetrical with other ODPi core built distributions.
“The rapid flood of digital information available to enterprises has resulted in a big data ecosystem that is challenged and slowed by fragmented and duplicated efforts. To overcome these interoperable and fragmentation challenges, our members have been working together to create a common reference specification called ODPi Core,” said John Mertic, Director of Program Management, ODPi. “Zettaset’s certifications are a strong step in this direction, as it makes their software compatible with other ODPI-member Hadoop distributions built upon the HDP core and ODPi core. This compatibility will help make it easier to create big data solutions and data-driven applications.”
Certification from HDP reveals that Zettaset’s Big Data Encryption suite is Security Ready and Operations Ready, indicating that it’s Apache Hadoop is secured with various technologies, such as Kerberos, Apache Knox, and Apache Ranger, and Apache Ambari.
