HP to Be the Main Contractor for Building SFR's Modular Data Center

FREMONT, CA: HP along with Schneider Electric and Cap Ingelec will be hired by SFR (Societe Franchise de Radiotelephone), the French telecommunication company, to build the modular data center in Trappes, reports Hollie Luxford for Datacenter Dynamics, a B2B information provider.

Reportedly, HP is the main contractor on the project and Schneider and Cap Ingelec will provide other additional support. Schneider caters climate control, electrical and server room installation; whereas Cap Ingelec handles building’s construction, external facilities and security features like video monitoring, fire extinguishing and access control.

With the help of HP and other renowned companies, SFR which currently operates over 100 major data centers spread across France, will make an imprint on the data center market .

Aimed at raising demand for hosting services, SFR which has been investing for this venture since 2011 now delivers a cost-efficient datacenter on modular basis. The company will add identical modules without causing any alteration to the existing systems, report adds.
