Hyundai Merchant Marine Chooses INTTRA's eVGM Solution to Meet New Compliance Requirements
PARSIPPANY, NJ: Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), a logistics company announces expansion of its synergy with INTTRA—the ocean shipping electronic marketplace – by adopting the INTTRA eVGM Service as a channel to ease compliance with renewed internationally-accepted container weight rule. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has amended the SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) for weighing containers to declare the Verified Gross Mass (VGM). Under the new rule every container must have a (VGM) or a certified weight for gain further clearance to be loaded onto a ship within a prescribed cut-off date or time to the shipping line or port terminal authorities.
By embracing the eVGM network, HMM provides customers and additional shippers on the network with simplicity and efficiency in submitting VGM information. In addition, INTTRA’s eVGM Service is available in two versions – for carriers and shippers, so that rely on a single standardized solution for real time view on SOLAS compliance.
“For SOLASVGM, we enable customers to control compliance costs by using our single integrated platform to search for sailings, identify voyage, and book their shipment directly, without distruption their existing shipping process,” says Inna Kuznetsova, President and CEO, INTTRA.
The partnership focuses on connecting customers through a variety of channels including: EDI, XML, the web, and mobile devices for improving business process efficiency.
