IAB Introduces 'IAB Data Center of Excellence' to Eliminate Challenges in Data Management
PALM DESERT, CA: Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) announces launch of IAB Data Center of Excellence which is a new independently funded unit within IAB; founded to expand existing IAB resources and drive the “data agenda” for the digital media, marketing, and advertising industry. IAB focuses on developing technical standards, best practices and critical research on interactive advertising.
The organization delivers services for professional development and in improving knowledge, skills, expertise, and diversity of the workforce to the industry. The launch of the new data center funds industry research projects, provide benchmarks, create actionable insights on data management across platforms and host data-focused events. Also, it focuses to develop guidelines, standards for privacy, and data security. The mission is to deliver services to advertisers and marketers to use their data assets which offer quality, transparency, accountability, and consumer protection. Similarly, it produces education-related materials like certification, webinars, and videos.
IAB Data Center of Excellence provides benchmarks and actionable insights on data management across numerous platforms such as mobile, programmatic, and IoT. It also, drives Host data focused events catering industry luminaries that invigilate data related topics.
“Given the pace at which new technology is being adopted and the power of ‘big data’ acknowledged in the value it can create for brands, publishers, and consumers, it was time to come together as an industry,” says Joe Zawadzki, CEO, MediaMath. According to him, the IAB Data Center of Excellence will help define best practices, articulate standards, and collaboratively shape the data ecosystem with the consumer, the globe, and the future in mind.
As the founding members of Data Center; Acxiom, Conversant Media, Experian, Integral Ad Science, LiveIntent, Oracle Data Cloud, and The Weather Company will assign representatives from their respective companies to be part of the organization’s Board of Directors. Data Center is provided for interested parties like industry thought leaders from technology and data service providers, DSPs, SSPs, exchanges, publishers, retailers, verification services, research groups, and attribution companies.
