IBM Acquires Optevia to Boost its Cloud-Based CRM Services

FREMONT, CA: IBM has announced the acquisition of Optevia, a UK-based, privately owned SaaS integrator company that specializes in Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions. Optevia will merge with IBM Global Business Services to assist in reaching the growing demand for CRM SaaS solutions in the public sector. This acquisition will support IBM in positioning himself as a digital consultant and SaaS provider to enhance clients with CRM solutions. Industry specialists have estimated that the opportunity of global CRM worth up to US $23Bn and with the cloud-based CRM solutions it is anticipated to exceed 50 percent in total.

Optevia establishes itself as a partner for the clients in social and public enterprise sectors. This addition to IBM will permit them to enhance the solutions of Optevia into different worldwide implementation areas of the Optevia software, resources, and well-trained workforce to utilize their expertise in enhancing the current IBM capabilities.

Optevia was mainly focused on the UK’s health authorities, central and local governments, housing, social enterprises, and the emergency services that enables the clients distinct solutions. Councils, regulators, ministries, transport authorities, licensing and grant management organizations and the social housing organizations are the areas where Optevia’s client base was spread.

“By acquiring Optevia, IBM will be able to provide Public Sector clients and prospects with a range of unique, industry-focused CRM based solutions,” said Joanna Davinson, IBM. “This strategic acquisition will help strengthen IBM as a SaaS provider and Global Software Integrator.”

Previously IBM announces advanced object-based cloud storage services to support users in managing the increasing amount of unorganized data. IBM got this technology by acquiring Cleversafe, an object storage company that will empower IBM cloud in providing solutions for the flexible, hybrid and fast cloud storage. After enhancement of the latest services, IBM will deliver an option of multiple APIs to the organizations that will assist in easy storing of large volume of data on IBM cloud, in the hybrid environment or on-premise. This data will store efficiently at same reliability stage covering all deployment models.
