IBM's Aspera Provides Workflow Automation to Digital Workshop
ARMONK, NY: IBM announces that Digital Workshop, a provider of film and television post-production facilities opts for high-speed file transfer and workflow automation software that is offered by Aspera, an IBM company. The alliance is to incorporate, manage and distribute the disparate media content received from global content owners through the software.
Digital Workshop receives up to 5 TB of DCP (Digital Cinema Package) trailers, EPK (Electronic Press Kit) packages, artwork, television spots and film trailers from global film studios, content distributers and business partners. The company has selected the Aspera Faspex Server and Aspera Orchestrator to securely distribute feature films and high-definition assets digitally.
Aspera Faspex provides an intuitive, user-friendly interface for individuals and groups to transfer files and directories of any size at high speed. It is able to receive, process and supply high-quality content faster. The capacity to deliver media has increased from 500 GB to 3 TB per month including approximately 30 music videos and eight EPKs.
Aspera Orchestrator improves digital processing workflow by offering a variety of plug-ins for transcoding and quality control. It automatically manages the end-to-end processing of diverse media files. Any type of digital asset received from global content owners is securely ingested, processed into the requested format, and distributed to a number of media outlets, broadcasters and cinemas in a variety of resolutions, bitrates and formats.
