IBM's Playbook Supports P-TECH; Helps Hollege Students Excel
ALBANY, NY: IBM introduces a new digital playbook for the educational model – Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) – to encourage students to prepare to join the workforce with industry-level skills.
P-TECH focuses on the area of Information Technology (IT) and equips students to excel in their interest as well as finds paid internship opportunities. The school, applied high school and two years of college (hollege) students, offers academics structure for students to master skills related to IT. This six year program aggregates academic courses with career focus where graduates will earn high school diploma and industry-recognized associates’s degree.
The new website consists of 31 tools and 15 case studies that help school districts, higher education institutions and businesses establish P-TECH school across nations by implementing IBM’s public-private partnership education model, Playbook. The school and college partners will use playbook’s data to create a course curriculum for students according to skills he/she needs for specific company. The tool also facilitates students to be career-ready through workplace learning opportunities such as mentoring, paid internships and worksite visits.
