MPS Monitor Declares the Addition of SOC 2® Compliance to its Security Profile

By CIOReview | Monday, July 26, 2021

The leading SaaS provider of Managed Print Services completes an A-LIGN SOC 2 Type 1 examination.

FREMONT, CA: MPS Monitor®, the company that develops and distributes the industry's leading platform for remote monitoring and managing printers and multifunctional devices, completes the System and Organization Controls 2 Type 1 (SOC 2® Type 1) examination. This achievement further validates MPS Monitor's holistic approach to print security. It demonstrates the company's ongoing efforts to adhere to recognized industry standards and provide the most secure cloud infrastructure for remote monitoring and management of print devices.

MPS Monitor's security practices and controls meet the Trust Services Criteria for Security, Availability, and Confidentiality as of April 30th, 2021, according to an independent examination conducted by leading cybersecurity assessment firm A-LIGN.

The SOC 2 examination, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is intended for organizations of any size, regardless of industry or scope, and passing it demonstrates that their potential and existing customers' assets are protected. SOC 2 reports are globally recognized and attest that an organization's infrastructure, software, people, data, policies, procedures, and operations have been formally reviewed.

MPS Monitor continues to look for ways to improve its Information Security Management System since being certified to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard in 2017, and in 2020 the company decided to test its compliance with additional international security standards. A SOC 2 testing plan was developed and approved with the assistance of the A-LIGN team to complete SOC 2 Type 1 in the first half of 2021 and SOC 2 Type 2 after one year. Today's announcement marks the successful completion of the plan's first milestone.

Commenting on the announcement, Nicola De Blasi, CEO of MPS Monitor, states: “Security is a fundamental component of MPS Monitor’s culture and strategy. Everything we do is centered on protecting user’s information and IT assets. The SOC 2 Audit is further independent proof of MPS Monitor’s security posture which gives new and existing customers peace of mind knowing that their security is our first priority. Our Information Security Management System, now audited as compliant to both ISO/IEC 27001 and to SOC 2, provides the highest security profile currently available in our industry.”

Ty Brush, Director of EMEA and APAC at A-LIGN, says: “SOC 2 is a rigorous and prescriptive information security audit standard. Global service organizations, like MPS Monitor, are increasingly looking to SOC 2 to demonstrate the design and operating effectiveness of their internal controls. The success of MPS Monitor’s SOC 2 Type 1 examination highlights its ongoing commitment to the security, availability and confidentiality of customer data.”

MPS Monitor allows its SOC 2 Type 1 Report immediately available to current and prospective customers upon logging into its Portal and electronically signing a specific non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
