Quanergy's S3-Qi LiDAR Sensor Aims to Deliver Smart Automation
SUNNYVALE, CA: Quanergy Systems, a provider of cost effective LiDAR (light detection and ranging) sensors and LiDAR-based sensing systems, announces the expansion of its product portfolio by releasing S3-Qi, a miniature solid state LiDAR sensor.
S3-Qi weighs 100 grams and measures just 1” x 1.5” which means it is 85 percent smaller in size compared to its predecessor, S3. The cost-effective and low power consumption system built in S3-Qi LiDAR sensor is apt for use in drones, intelligent robotics, security, smart homes and industrial automation.
In the automotive space, LiDAR sensors help in facilitating expansive deployment of sophisticated driver assistance systems (ADAS) and independent driving systems. The safety-enabling sensing systems could be connected to Electronic Control Units (ECUs) to activate the brakes, accelerators, steering, signaling in vehicles.
