Red Hat Initiates RHEV's 3.4 Beta Version

FREMONT, CA: Red Hat, a provider of open source software for enterprises has initiated the beta version of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.4; an enhanced kernel based virtual machine, reports ZDNet.

The platform is designed to simplify and automate enterprise virtualization tasks by offering seamless integration simultaneously with OpenStack. The features of RHEV 3.4 include: OpenStack support and integration; enhanced enterprise networking capabilities; and advanced full-stack management.

OpenStack Support and Integration

RHEV 3.4 Beta makes sharing and provisioning of networking resources of traditional and cloud-enabled workloads simple with the help of OpenStack Networking integration. It also maintains open vSwitch, a production quality, multilayer virtual switch licensed under the open source Apache 2.0 and its software-defined networking capabilities.

Enhanced Enterprise Networking Capabilities

With RHEV 3.4 Beta users can redesign networks and apply changes to the hosts attached to specified network. The software thereby automates network modification tasks, simplifies maintenance, and eliminates network inconsistency issues.

Advanced Full-Stack Management

RHEV H3.4 Beta allow users to automate and manage time consuming tasks which include: additional scheduler enhancements that schedule policies based on the users requirement; affinity/anti-affinity groups which talks about how virtual machines run; hot plug central processing unit that helps in allocating virtual CPU’s without starting them again; and persistent cloud-init metadata with which the cloud nodes are simplified for configuration of virtual machines.
