Salsify's new GDSN Data Pool to Help Manage Product Data Better
Salsify has announced the launch of its new data pool that can be employed to manage and share data from a single platform.
Fremont, CA: Salsify, a product experience management (PXM) platform, has launched a new data pool for GS1's Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). This new data pool will help the IT, e-commerce, trade, Master Data Management (MDM), and marketing teams in managing and sharing product data with retailers and distributors through the GDSN, from just one platform.
Salsify is currently the only platform with product information management (PIM capabilities) as well as a native data pool, completely covering GS1's Global Data Dictionary (GDD). This provides customers with an end-to-end solution for both managing and transmitting the product content for the company's website as well as the e-commerce channels.
Salsify's PXM platform combines the work done by all teams that are involved in launching products, streamlining processes, integrating workflows, providing one source for all product data. This helps in minimizing the time taken to launch a product in the market. Publishing new packaging variations and engaging media through rich content, updated frequently, will help the company in marketing its product better. The PXM platform's reports and workflows warn the IT team of violations immediately.
"Brand manufacturer CIOs are telling us they want to unify and accelerate item setup for retail/wholesale and digital,” said Jason Purcell, co-founder, and CEO of Salsify. "A GDSN data pool, properly implemented, can serve as a powerful channel for speedy and accurate enablement of products from the supply chain to the digital shelf."
The Salsify PXM's new data pool is in the process of getting certified by the GS1 currently. It is expected to receive the certification within this quarter.
"The GDSN community has seen pretty limited innovation since the standard was released last decade, so there's ample room to bring something fresh to the market—we're very excited about the opportunities this brings to our customers for cost savings and streamlined operations." adds Jason.
