Siemens Procures Polarion Software to Boost Product Lifecycle Management
SAN FRANCISCO, CA: The constant development of new applications calls for the management and supervision right from its initial planning through its retirement. This is when Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) comes to light. To this end, Siemens acquires Polarion Software, a provider of ALM enterprise solution to expand Siemens’ PLM services.
The acquisition will add Polarion’s offerings to Siemens Teamcenter software to bolster ALM in the product development process. Polarion ALM software empowers application development processes with a single solution for coding, testing and release. Polarion’s solution offers real time aggregated management information, risk management, project planning and quality assurance to meet the needs of developers. Siemens Teamcenter Software is a Product Lifecycle Management software that uses standardized workflows and streamlines efficiency throughout the client’s organization.
Additionally, the acquisition will augment Siemens support for systems driven product development that integrates systems engineering with a product definition in an open environment. It also enables Siemens’ to deliver open architecture solutions.
