Siemens Updates its Scada Software for Mobile-based Plant Control

FREMONT, CA: Siemens, a technology company, updates its Simatic WinCC Scada (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) software to version 7.3. This update comes with Simatic WinCC/WebUX 7.3 module enabling remote access of production metrics through mobile.

By introducing mobile access to the plant information, the solution gets up-to-date with the current technological demands. Simatic WinCC/WebUX V7.3 offers access to automation data from any remote location. Being a platform-independent solution, it supports any web browser and requires no client installation.

The presence of https and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) ensures secure communication. It comprises of the license for WebUX access for monitoring purposes; user management is integrated in WinCC. The scalable licensing model can be implemented depending upon the functional scope and number of users. The solution can be used in diverse industry sectors by a wide range of users.

The version 7.3 has latest Configuration Studio that supports central configuration of information such as process data, messages, user management, archiving, of texts in any languages. Simatic s7-1500 controllers get the boost with extended communication options. Tags with symbolic addressing can be transferred directly and the controllers’ system messages can also be handled.

This latest update of Scada software comes with innovative maintenance concepts as tasks for plant control and performance such as specifying switching operations and setpoints can be managed remotely.
