Store, Share and Access Files Anytime, Anywhere from Any Device with Barracuda's CudaDrive
CAMPBELL, CA: Barracuda a provider of cloud-connected security and storage solutions launches CudaDrive, a flexible and secure cloud file service for businesses, delivered on desktops via local virtual drive, as well as mobile and web applications. Through this release the company is enabling businesses to securely store, share and access all of their files anytime, anywhere and from any device.
“We’ve helped many companies back up and protect server data with Barracuda Backup, and now with CudaDrive, we’re able to protect end-user data and provide easy sharing,” says Rod Mathews, GM Storage, Barracuda.
The latest release is an evolution of Copy, the company’s legacy file sync and share service; and encompasses user data protection for endpoints with an option to add an appliance to smoothen the migration from existing corporate file shares to CudaDrive. In addition valuable storage space can be preserved by not requiring to be synced locally to access it. This creates a vital differentiator from legacy sync-only services, this feature is known as the desktop virtual drive feature.
“It’s not uncommon that users view, share, and store corporate data from many different access points, whether on a smart-phone, tablet, or computer, presenting a challenge for companies to ensure that all of this data is protected. CudaDrive helps solve the common business challenge of enabling access to corporate files from any device, while protecting data stored on those devices in the event of a failure or loss,” adds Mathews.
CudaDrive also offers users deployment options of Appliance, Virtual appliance and Hosted Subscription to be more user friendly. Its features include: Access and share from any device, User data protection, Virtual drive, Simple Management, Smart syncing, CudaDrive Site server, Barracuda Cloud Storage and Integration with Barracuda products that further helps the end-user leverage the most of secure cloud storage offered by Barracuda. Barracuda’s existing customers for Copy will be migrated to CudaDrive.
The CudaDrive experience also includes addition of an on-premise CudaDrive Site Server, provides for intelligent bandwidth management for businesses. Further CudaDrive Site Server also allows for faster, direct access to files via a local cache and improving speed while on a company’s LAN. The appliance further enables file server consolidation by sharing files stored in the cloud via network drive shares. This eases the process of transition from traditional local file servers to CudaDrive cloud storage. With CudaDrive Site Server, users will have ubiquitous access to files both in the cloud and stored locally.
