Update on the launch of SPS' Deal Origination Analytics Portal
NEW YORK, NY: Sutton Place Strategies (SPS) redefined deal souring for private equity and M&A professionals with the launch of its Deal Origination Analytics™ Portal last November. The Portal is designed to connect users with relevant new deal sources, and help clients navigate their way to less competitive processes at more reasonable valuations.
In the past year, the Portal has delivered on its promise of “smart” technology and has created value for its clients by increasing their business development effectiveness through these key features:
• Identify and reach out to new relevant deal sources in a timely manner via the New Deal Sources menu on the dashboard. According to SPS analysis, there are 35 new sell-side advisory firms every quarter that sell a business in the U.S. and Canada for the first time. It’s important to form early relationships with these firms to increase relevant deal flow.
• Filter intermediaries based on firms that run the most limited processes using the SPS Sell-Side Process Index, which is based on real data. Less competition = lower entry multiple = better returns.
• Transform your dead deal pipeline from a historical record to an active resource.
• Optimize your conference and business travel calendar - find active, relevant professionals wherever your next trip might be.
The accomplishment of the Portal has been duly recognized by the M&A industry. Corporate LiveWire awarded SPS the 2016 M&A Analytics Platform of the Year, part of the 2016 M&A Awards. The Portal was also recognized as one of the “useful tools available to dealmakers” in a June 2016 Mergers & Acquisition column entitled, “Dealmaker’s Guide to M&A Services, Groups & Resources: Data providers, virtual data rooms and networking groups are becoming increasingly important tools in M&A” authored by Danielle Fugazy. Each recognition is a tribute to the Portal’s success in helping deal originators achieve best in class deal sourcing.
“The visibility into our market share and information on new active deal sources that SPS provides is a valuable resource in our commitment to excellence in business development.” – says Brian A. Demkowicz, Managing Partner of Huron Capital Partners, and a SPS client.
The Portal is now available as a mobile app. This functionality will be integral for deal originators who are focused on building relationships with key sources, and are making the most of their time by using curated, targeted data. Users will have access to firm profiles, including the ability to filter based on deal relevancy and closing processes, to book meetings in real-time, as well as manage existing relationships more efficiently.
