VoIP Logic's Third Annual Report Provides Insight on Sales and Technology

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA- VoIP Logic, in its third annual market research report tabulated the results of information obtained from 382 Hosted Voice industry professionals. It comprised of small and medium-sized service providers leveraging VoIP technology. The report is made available for free upon completion of a small survey and is entitled ‘2015 VoIP Service Providers: Demographics, Sales and Technology.’

Some important inferences can be drawn out of the Report. 

Hosted PBX (67.5 percent), SIP Trunking (52.7  percent) and Data Networking, which includes IP, MPLS and point-to-point circuits (36.7 percent) are the three most widely used services sold by Hosted Voice Service Providers.

Polycom has lost market share in the desktop telephone market while Yealink has boosted its market share to the extent where they have surpassed Cisco telephones as the second most popular option in our survey of the Hosted PBX market.

Another interesting fact is that, Softphone browser-based clients are evolving rapidly compared to mobile applications. Also, Web-based selling is dropping while the sales through Direct channels  and Value-Added Resellers are escalating.

The survey also points out that marketplace of Hosted Voice Service Providers is young and regenerating with 24.9 percent of respondents, indicating the tenure of these companies lying in the range 0-4 years old.

Lastly, comparing the trends  of 2015 to that of 2014, the most determinant sales variable has transformed from existing customer relationship to price as a prime factor.
