Farms and landfills worldwide employ digesters to convert animal, human, and food waste into valuable fertilizer while mitigating unpleasant odors. However, the underutilization of the produced biogas is a significant issue. This biogas, comprising 60-65 percent methane, is often released into the atmosphere, resulting in the loss of a clean and renewable energy source that could otherwise power households and businesses, offering an eco-friendly alternative for cooking and generating electricity. The logical approach is to capture, store, and leverage biogas energy as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels and biomass burning.

Cenergy Solutions, a leading global energy storage company, has achieved a significant breakthrough in storing biogas, making it adaptable for diverse applications. Its patented Adsorbed Natural Gas technology enables more economical absorption of methane molecules at low pressures using finely particulated activated carbon within cylinders. Each particle of adsorbent can thus accommodate 3 to 4 million methane molecules, resulting in an increased density of methane molecules within the tank or cylinder. This process mirrors the compression of biogas to high pressures, bringing methane molecules closer together and enhancing the British thermal unit (BTUs) stored per square inch. Through its patented system, the company aids in efficiently absorbing, storing, and distributing gas in tanks similar to LPG tanks.

Cenergy Solutions is dedicated to aiding countries with limited financial resources in optimizing their energy utilization and reducing wastage, thus mitigating negative global impacts. An illustrative example is the dispatch of a technical team comprising two individuals to Burundi, recognized as one of the world's poorest nations. Despite the presence of a World Bank-funded biogas digester, the emitted biogas was going to waste. Its team installed its systems within a day and conducted training sessions for local personnel. As a result, the previously wasted biogas was harnessed for household and commercial cooking purposes.

As a self-funded company, Cenergy Solutions has successfully implemented its biogas systems in various communities across nine countries. While predominantly financing these initiatives independently, it actively seeks partnerships and investors in different countries. Its goal is to make this transformative technology accessible to communities worldwide and mitigate methane emissions. The company has an innovative investor project program where interested parties can contribute funds, essentially providing a loan to communities for installing the system. As communities pay for the cost-effective biofuel, which is notably cheaper than LPG, the loan is repaid with a competitive interest rate.

Cenergy Solutions also aims to address the global challenge of wood-based cooking that affects a third of the world's population, where an estimated 3.7 million people succumb to pulmonary diseases due to this type of cooking. In a proactive move, it conducted a comprehensive study, engaging four college students to research 199 countries. The study focused on understanding each country's energy sources, demographics, and health and pollution challenges. The findings underscored a universal need for Cenergy’s technology to store the biogas economically and safely. Recognizing the potential global impact, Cenergy Solutions' future plans involve widespread dissemination of this technology, making it accessible to communities worldwide and empowering them to achieve energy independence.
