Capturing Federal contracts will require investing time and money into government business development. You need the best market intelligence to gain an advantage over thousands of other vendors competing for Federal dollars.

The past few years have been of great concern for government contractors mainly due to the market uncertainty with Office of Management Budget (OMB), resulting in delayed projects and scale back of task orders. Fortunately, there are companies providing a mix of commercial and business portfolios that has helped them survive the tough market road. One such company is ClarkeHouse Technologies. Initiated in 2000, Clarke House Technologies is 100 percent woman owned and is operated by former ERP functional and technical consultants providing clients with ERP skilled resources available at competitive rates. The company's services include full lifecycle ERP implementations and Subject Matter Experts (SME) in areas of Finance, Logistics, Business Warehouse configuration, Technical Development programming and customized training. Headquartered in Midland Park, New Jersey, ClarkeHouse has successfully provided these services to the Department of Defense for more than a decade.

ClarkeHouse assists both government and commercial clients, with modernizing, legacy business and IT processes with new or improved process flows that will run on Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software. They specialize in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and provide seasoned contractors who can lead project teams and collaborate with partners to achieve mission success. “We are working on expanding internally to handle upcoming business and securing the right business partners and mentors so our corporation can expand and continue to maintain strong business strategy with clearly defined goals,” says Catherine House, President of ClarkeHouse.

ClarkeHouse provides government customers the expertise they need to be successful. The key differentiation which sets the company apart from competitors is the partnership they offer to their clients, consultants and vendors.

They consistently persevere and optimize their solutions and services to sustain their competitive edge. The company’s IT staff strives to provide new implementations, process improvements, upgrades, troubleshooting and training. Current ERP projects include integrating mobile devices; implementing additional business applications and data migration are in process or in the planning stages now. Integration concerns for hardware, applications, networking, supply chains and security will all need to be re-examined. We combine the right people, processes and technology to minimize risk and maximize reward.

ClarkeHouse’s consulting team has strong functional and technical knowledge of government logistics and financial systems. One of their long-term strategies has always been to work with Department of Defense (DOD) and thus they have partnered on many DOD projects for the last 13 years. Working on both commercial and government projects helps consultants provide broad-minded industry solutions to give the government a fresh edge in the market.

“I started my consulting career about a year after presenting at the American SAP User’s Group (ASUG) convention. My topic was the “The Dynamics of an SAP Implementation”. One of the key themes of my presentation was highlighting the changes that would take place on the functional side of the enterprise before, during and after an ERP implementation. The feedback I got from the attendees was overwhelming and the request for help and guidance was such a positive experience for me,” says Catherine, on what inspired her to take up consulting as a career.

Looking ahead, ClarkeHouse continues to re-evaluate business plan specifically in the areas of strategic planning, value proposition, pricing strategies. The company will strive to keep a low overhead and continue to strategize partnerships that fit their long-term goals
