Helping merchants drive revenue and scale business is CloudCart, a European e-commerce platform built by merchants for merchants. With built-in marketing tools and native language support, CloudCart enables merchants to be in complete control over their e-commerce business.
CloudCart’s success journey breathes new life in the aspirations of millions of merchants in any part of the world. Two brothers (the current leadership of CloudCart) came together to establish a European-based web studio (operating under a different name) in 2004 but found it hard to scale their business. To overcome the limited revenue, they started an online fashion mall, which was Bulgaria’s first. However, fluctuating customer count, dwindling audience reach, and increasing inventory challenges introduced the two brothers to the woes faced by merchants. Business scalability was still a distant dream for merchants. They took it upon themselves to beat the status quo and built an innovative online marketplace software, aka ‘business in a box’ in 2008. The software allowed merchants to not only start or upgrade their business but also scale it with little time and cost. In a matter of few years, 12000 marketplaces were produced by the same team. In the backdrop of such massive success of its software, CloudCart’s leadership fastened their seat belts to realize their dream—a full-fledged e-commerce platform.
“CloudCart is a dream come true for us—a platform built by merchants for merchants. No business needs to spend too much extra time or money to start a new online business or upgrade it, anymore,” says Nikolay Iliev, CEO of CloudCart. The company’s platform speaks the merchant’s native language, so they have complete control over the backend admin panel and the customer-facing storefront. The eCommerce stores powered by the platform sell to buyers from over 200 countries across the globe.
While other e-commerce platform vendors built their product keeping in mind certain populations and a specific language, CloudCart is developed in a region- and language-agnostic way. “For us, the software wasn’t the end goal but a means to help merchants fulfil their ambition of swift growth,” states Iliev. “We don’t wait for clients to come to us demanding certain features and functionalities. Rather we create game-changing apps with numerous functionalities putting ourselves in the merchant’s shoes.” Subsequently, they enable merchants to choose the right apps and marketing tools to optimize and automate various business processes.

CloudCart thoroughly addresses all the aspects of the business—payments, supply chain, communication, and shipping– and technology orchestration and execution. Using APIs and proprietary omnipayment solutions, the company connects all the dots in seamless business planning and management. High transparency across sales, payments, and supply chain partner networks achieved through an engaging user interface allows merchants to improve their revenue manifold. Furthermore, seamless third-party integration simplifies merchants’ lives as they no longer need to worry about finding the right partner for marketing, supply chain, accounting, and other aspects in any part of the world. “We keep them apprised of the legal requirements as well,” adds Iliev.
CloudCart wants to take this ease of doing business to the next level. “Our next step is to open a programming hub to upgrade our software and to be Open SaaS where we will check the level of service, and make a merchant scoring system. We are also developing CloudCart European Ecosystem - a partnership community of experts offering a wide variety of eCommerce services in one place,” concludes Iliev.
