Citing a real-life case, Sandfort mentions how a bank primarily involved in the housing and lending sector wanted to move their on-premise systems to the cloud. comdivision began the migration by helping the client discard parts of their disaster recovery data center. As maintaining the data center was costing tens of thousands of dollars every month, comdivision designed a cloud strategy that involved moving backups from legacy storage systems to AWS S3 buckets. comdivison also transitioned one of the data centers into VMware and AWS infrastructure so as to eliminate hardware and software maintenance costs.
