Datacast Technologies Inc.

Claudia Bitner, COO and Founder, Elysa Jones, CEO/CTO and Founder and Tommi Robison, CRO
In ancient mythology, Diana was revered as the huntress and protector, safeguarding hunters during their expeditions. Fast forward to the present day, and we find the same spirit embodied in the world of technology, thanks to Datacast Technologies, Inc.

Datacast Tech is a woman-owned enterprise led by visionary founders Elysa Jones, Claudia Bitner, and Mark Wood, internationally recognized authorities in the realm of emergency digital messaging. Harnessing the spirit of Diana, they have given birth to a converged IoT and cybersecurity solution bearing her name. Security-by-design technology tailor-made to meet the key challenges and organizational needs demanded by today's Industry 4.0 machineto-machine age.

Never before has the need for a converged IoT and cybersecurity solution been more urgent. The Extended Internet of Things (XIoT) now connects everything, exposing organizations to relentless cyber threats. While IND 4.0 has transformed critical infrastructure sectors such as energy, healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing, it has also made them highly susceptible to attacks. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) warns that network edge devices are under constant assault. Despite considerable investments in cybersecurity, a crucial capability has remained missing in the ongoing battle against cybercrime.

That is where DIANA™ comes in as the guardian, ensuring the essential pillars of society remain resilient in the ever-evolving landscape of threats.

Built from their industry-respected expertise in IoT, M2M, Vehicleto-everything (V2X) broadcast technology, and their world leadership in OASIS Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) and Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards that govern 90 percent of the world population's emergency alerting, DIANA™ can now be applied across all industries to transform how smart devices send, receive, process, and secure data. This is the genesis for their patented machine-to-machine, automated multi-factor authentication for cyber-crime prevention and securing IoT communication. Whether it is industrial or medical IoT, they're all vulnerable, and it’s been proven that security patches on the fly have been ineffective in addressing these deep vulnerabilities, risks, and liabilities.

“Cybercrime is like a cancer that attacks every entity. Everyone, including a government or non-government organization, small business, and large corporate giants, is at risk,” says Elysa Jones, CEO and founder. “Our DIANA™ is an early-stage technology with the capability of becoming the ‘must-have’ secure data transmission option for XIoT communication systems.”

A Beacon of Hope in the Digital Wilderness

McKinsey & Company reports Cybersecurity for the IoT: How trust can unlock value, clarifies the need for converged IoT and cybersecurity solutions is a strategic imperative for businesses navigating the complexities of the digital age. According to the reports, when the industry can converge the IoT and cybersecurity, the reward could be enormous.

DIANA™'s IND 4.0 M2M, multi-factor authentication takes the human out of the process and expands authentication beyond 2 MFA to 3,4,5,6 MFA according to customer needs. DIANA™ enables up to 99.999 denial of intrusion attempts protection, which is a groundbreaking converged IoT/cybersecurity first-line of defense for our XIoT/OT/ICS devices and systems to prevent cybercrime and asset loss before they occur.

DIANA™ uses a stateless protocol and is not prone to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) blocking or other kinds of TCP/IP poisoning attacks. Also, with the rising tide of DDoS breaches and their costly impacts on security, profitability, and availability of critical services such as fuel, food, and water supply to our world's supply of critical manufactured products such as bleach, DIANA™ shines as a beacon of hope for CIOs and their organizations.

Taking the human out of the loop for IoT authentication is a game changer.

DIANA™, the guardian, is the first non-IP-dependent and non-addressed cybercrime prevention platform to persistently protect critical operational systems from the power grid to connected medical systems, smart cities, and buildings, uniquely enabling the services we rely on. Cross-platform, anonymous, one-to-millions, secure multi-cast data communication to a tsunami of IoT devices and systems without overloading the network.

It is a dynamic and flexible SaaS and PaaS technology that can use and automate variable packet sizes and safely broadcast highly efficient single or multiple customer-defined content elements to one or one to many IoT and edge devices simultaneously, in real-time. It sends these packets using any broadcast communication pathway, e.g., cell broadcast, mobile mesh network, passive optical distribution (PoD), or even existing hospital paging systems.

On October 4, the one-to-mega-million broadcast technology was successfully tested throughout the US. The use of a wireless emergency alert (WEA) to test the critical alert system is the validation of one such broadcast methodology that can be utilized with DIANA™.

DIANA™ is built upon a solid foundation of unmatched, scalable, speed-improving, Opex-leveling, and secure data transmission. DIANA™ is an enterprise-to-edge security-by-design IoT communication system that is device and carrier-agnostic.

DIANA™ is cloaked and invisible to the network, making it immune to cyberattacks. Not visible, not a target. Advanced digital signatures and strong encryption make spoofing impossible from the outside. DIANA™ system database breaches are eliminated, and it deprives worms of an attack vector. Worms, in fact, cannot propagate up the DIANA™ system chain and spread.

Rowing the "Thames" of Cybersecurity

Datacast Tech is teaming up with the University of Idaho (UofI) on a pivotal pilot project for grid security, operational efficiencies, and service resilience: Mountain West Grid Resilience Initiative (MWGRI). The timely aim of this project is substation modernization, improving security, and addressing insecure communication within the bi-directional, Distributed Energy Resource Management (DERM) environment needed to support renewable energy economies. Dakota Roberson, PhD, former White House Fellow, Energy Security, and UofI, DHS, and Idaho National Laboratories Joint Appointee, selected DIANA™ exclusively for this Utilities OT/ICS security and operations project.

Datacast Tech works in collaboration with industry leaders for final phase development and validation to truly understand the operational and system requirements to secure IIoT/OT/ ICS communications to reduce risk in the power grid’s most vulnerable aspects: EV/EVSE charging stations, solar panels, power generation, and energy storage in a bi-directional power grid, and other use cases such as smart factory, datacenter and crypto mining operations impact on the commercial load. FERC’s Executive Orders 841 and 2222 have unlocked new opportunities for power generation and distribution in unexplored avenues but have also opened new windows for bad actors who are continually targeting critical infrastructure and threatening our way of life.

Datacast Tech’s trusted relationships and success with the UofI and INL have resulted in securing a global distribution partner who has recently expanded into IoT innovation products and services for the commercialization of its technology. The company aims to release DIANA™ by next year, addressing highly volatile threats in the XIoT/OT/ICS industrial space.

Our Diana™ Is An Early-Stage Technology With The Capability Of Becoming The ‘Must-Have’ Secure Data Transmission Option For All Xiot And Communication Systems

Due to the urgency of the cybercrime plaguing the nation's XIoT/OT/ICS devices and systems across all critical infrastructure sectors, the Datacast Tech team is also looking for funded pilot partners (NGO and GO) to team with them to solve these heinous, economy gutting problems, that have never been solved before.

Minds behind Datacast Tech’s game-changing approach to IoT and cybersecurity technology are Jones and chief scientist and co-founder Wood, both recognized pioneers in OASIS Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) standards and international emergency communication along with co-founder Bitner, whose career focused on the alert and warning interoperability for emergency management for the first digital alert system (EAS). Each humanitarian in their own right, COO Bitner’s greatest passion is to see lives saved and celebrated, always encouraging positive collaborations to ensure a safer world. She, Wood, and Jones, longtime partners, have sacrificed their time, talent, and monetary gain for the greater good.

CEO Jones' awe-inspiring career journey motivates women to pursue their passions and live their dreams, as she defied the odds to obtain a master’s degree in computer science with the unwavering support of her family.

“Cybercrime is like a cancer that attacks every entity. Everyone, including a government or non-government organization, small business, and large corporate giants, is at risk”

Raised in the heart of "Rocket City" Huntsville, she grew up witnessing the missile defense and NASA programs and developed a passion for engineering and communications. Taking on challenging projects designing radio receivers and soldering controller boards for early warning efforts, she quickly established herself as a respected leader in the emergency communications field.

Today, she leads Datacast Tech to revolutionize the IoT cybersecurity space by bringing together a team of subject matter experts working towards a common goal. As the mother of an international rower and a successful rower herself, she knows the importance of teamwork. She brings the same philosophy to Datacast Tech.

With a goal to end system insecurities, Datacast Tech envisions DIANA™ as the guardian of the digital realm, just like how the goddess Diana hunts, informs, and protects, redefining cybersecurity in this IND 4.0 world.
