Enviance
An Innovative Cloud-Based EHS Management Solution

Enviance

Amy Stelling, CEO
The rise of information system (IS) professionals in departments outside of IT that collaboratively work to solve data management system needs is the most under-rated technology trend of today. Data analysts, software-implementation program managers, and integration specialists are entrenched with business operations, and provide the expertise on how to implement feature-rich solutions. This trend is expected to help businesses meet their enterprise-wide digitalization goals and Industry 4.0 (or automation and data exchange) initiatives. That being said, organizations are attaching the same importance to these professionals in Environment, Health and Safety management (EHS) as they do to other key aspects of their activities. This demands the need for a structured approach to the identification of hazards and the evaluation and control of work-related risks.

Currently, besides Employees have the right to making sure they have the right to protect themselves while using hazardous chemicals—enterprises are subjected to inspections and audits that place a high-priority on verifying employees know how to quickly access information about the chemical hazards in their work environment. The existing legal framework calls for organizations to manage their activities in order to anticipate and prevent circumstances that may result in an occupational injury, ill health, or adverse negative environmental impact. Enviance is an innovative cloud-based EHS software provider, leveraging cloud computing technology to deliver its comprehensive suite of chemical management solutions, online in real-time—anywhere, anytime and enterprise-wide. The company’s solutions enable organizations to efficiently measure, manage and report mission-critical EH&S data and is deployed by some of the world’s leading corporations and governments. Enviance aims to control risks in a systematic, proactive manner through the implementation of its EHS management system and offer professional, training, and support services for their software to customers worldwide.

Apart from compliance, the typical challenges in the implementation of EHS management systems include delays caused by dependencies on IT deployment/de-installation, limitations of current tools, repetitive quality assurance tests due to differences in deployment configurations of silos systems—all of which result in the delay of receiving timely research data.

While other software providers rely on third-party providers to deliver SDS content, we are one of a small number of SaaS EHS platform providers that includes SDS management in its platform strategy

Enviance's chemical management solutions integrate three distinct features—SDS Vault, Gatekeeper, Regulator. The company's cloud-based solution is designed to protect workers from hazardous substances and provide companies with the tools to authorize, track and manage materials down to the molecular level. Stakeholders can now leverage chemical data and regulatory content to support safety, compliance, risk management, product stewardship, and analysis. “A cloud-delivered, integrated platform is best positioned to meet the needs of customers trying to drive cost and risk out of their operations with a technology that future proofs their investment,” explains Amy Stelling, CEO of Enviance.

Enviance SDS Vault is built on the company's EHS platform and provides chemical intelligence along with cost-effective content management services to store and update data such as chemical information, SDS, worker safety cards. In addition, the SaaS-based safety data-sheet management solution helps ensure the company remains compliant with hundreds of HazCom regulations and requirements. SDS Vault allows users to access critical chemical data and regulatory content from anywhere and anytime. With easy access to critical information, organizations can maintain accurate, SDS e-Binders for thousands of locations, run site-specific reports and analysis, compile summary sheets, and produce secondary containers labels. “While other software providers rely on third-party providers to deliver SDS content, we are one of a small number of SaaS EHS platform providers that includes SDS management in its platform strategy," explains Amy.

Another constituent of the company's EHS management offering is the Enviance Gatekeeper. A comprehensive chemical approval software specifically designed to screen, authorize, and purchase of latest and pre-existing materials. Enviance Gatekeeper significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of process workflows by breaking down “data silos” that exist in multi-unit operations. The solution identifies regulatory risks and helps avoid costly recalls.

"A cloud-delivered, integrated platform is best positioned to meet the needs of customers trying to drive cost and risk out of their operations with a technology that future proofs their investment"

Thus, shortening new material request and approval times while reducing redundant tasks and improving workplace safety.

Enviance Regulator was leveraged in conjunction with the SDS vault and Gatekeeper. The result, a robust chemical inventory management software designed to link to a company’s existing ERP system to capture inbound and outbound data-inventory. The Saas-based solution receives chemical transaction data at a predetermined frequency. This data can include product name, chemical name, quantity, ship-to location, and material composition. While tracking and monitoring precise, down to the container level–the Regulator can automate consistent usage for inventory consumption and prevention of waste generation. Furthermore, the solution regularly and automatically updates chemical lists, including extremely hazardous substances and hazardous air pollutants (HAP).

To illustrate the capabilities of Enviance's solution, the National Cooperative Refinery Association (NCRA) is an organization that deals with crude oil operations from transporting the product to underground storage via pipelines. Performing a vast range of processes, the NCRA was plagued with compliance requirements issues and required a system that would centralize all environmental compliance data without taxing IT resources or their budget. Enviance solution's open architecture and flexibility allowed NCRA to track a variety of environmental requirements without having to make extensive changes to its work processes. NCRA's systems were provided functionality through document management and compliance calendar capabilities without the need to purchase additional modules. NCRA was able to take advantage of the fast implementation period to internally audit its waste program for improved work processes. The project was completed on scope, on time, and under budget. “The volume and complexity of our customers’ EH&S risks only continue to grow. This expansive list of new releases reflects our commitment to putting more power and flexibility into our customers’ hands,” states Amy.

Moving forward, Enviance aims to continue it's a commitment to providing the best in class EHS software solutions and announced a series of recent product releases which is focused on improving the usability and flexibility of their solutions. “Our cross-discipline product team works together to continually enhance and integrate our software solutions” Smith explains. "Enviance's commitment to helping businesses improve their EHS programs by keeping our customers’ goals at the heart of our initiatives. This includes everything from the steady release of features in our SaaS environment that keep up with ever-changing EHS requirements," elucidates Amy.
