One such concerned parent was Amir Moussavian, the founder of Eturi—a company specializing in developing essential cross-platform solutions for mobile devices. With over 20 years of technology management experience, Moussavian has specialized knowledge in nurturing innovative technology companies from start-up to dynamic growth to strategic exits. Having realized the necessity to limit screen time for kids, he launched OurPact, the world’s leading parental control application, in 2015. The mobile app helps parents teach healthy device habits to children and teens by blocking apps across all devices. OurPact continues to innovate the parental screen time management category and has grown to become the number one parental control app, used by over 1 million families. Today, the need and importance of OurPact is more than ever. This is mainly due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, which has forced teens and children into isolation. Parents must balance and limit screen time for their kids due to its detrimental impact on their mental health and general well-being.
The repercussions of the pandemic have percolated through all aspects of our lives, but most importantly, redefined the way we work. In 2020, when COVID-19 dramatically restructured work practices, Moussavian realized that the new decentralized way of working left many leaders seeking ways to evaluate the activity of their teams. This sowed the seed from which Motiv was born. While OurPact is designed to help parents keep tabs on their children’s day-to-day activities, Motiv is taking this notion into the corporate world by allowing CEOs, managers, and leaders to manage the productivity of their teams closely. “With reporting focusing on team collaboration, we developed the app to ensure the highest level of employee privacy. Motiv is the corner-office view into today’s distributed workforce,” says Dustin Dailey, Vice President of Product Management at Eturi.
Team Productivity Metrics Right at Your Fingertips
The recently launched Motiv is a mobile-first dashboard designed by a CEO for CEOs and business leaders of remote and hybrid teams. With Motiv, Eturi has addressed the challenge of managing small and hybrid teams and how best business leaders can get the productivity metrics they need in an easy-to-use and convenient dashboard.
“While the pandemic has engendered many unwelcome changes, it has presented an opportunity to employees to discover the modality—remote working or working from office—that best suits them and enjoy more autonomy. We see more distributed workforce and many employers are readily adopting the hybrid working model,” notes Dailey. But the thorny question that arises is, “how do you address that or manage that as an employer?” Motiv provides a fitting answer to this as CEOs, managers, and leaders of distributed teams will now have productivity metrics for their team leaders in the palm of their hand. Motiv integrates with the collaboration tools businesses use every day, such as Gmail and Microsoft Outlook. Team leaders and managers can also observe week-over-week trends and efficiently manage and organize their data without aggregating reports from their teams.
Unlike many enterprise software that encroaches on employees’ privacy, Motiv is built with utmost security and privacy in mind to allow for mobile monitoring ethically. Motiv has no plug-ins or downloads to company computers for maximum user privacy. Dailey remarks, “Security and privacy is our prime focus, to the extent that we are willing to optimize our products for security and privacy above optimizing for business results.” With Eturi’s mobile monitoring technology now extended to the corporate world, business leaders can now keep their pulse on the latest developments in their organizations gauge the activity, productivity, and even sentiment of their employees.

A Renewed Approach to Tackling New-Age Problems
Motiv provides a higher-level look with crisp graphics that will appeal to CEOs and other C-Suite executives.
“We try to take really complex problems and technologies and make them very simple for the end user to interact with, which isn’t always an easy thing. This is because in this day and age, when there’s so much that everyone has on their plate, people really can’t afford to have another tool that results in too much cognitive load just to be able to use it and extract some information and value from it,” clarifies Dailey. To this end, Eturi prototypes and tests its products and then collects feedback from the testers. Daily explains that it is crucial to observe how testers react and interact with a product and finetune it to deliver an incredible experience to the end-users. Being a minor development team, Eturi is agile and nimble enough to iterate on those changes quickly.
Beyond the corporate realm, Eturi’s flagship product, OurPact, was designed with the busy family in mind. The parental control app and family locator work cross-platform for both parent’s and child’s devices—iOS and Android on WiFi and cellular networks. OurPact equips parents with the tools to set up guardrails for their children, allowing them to disable or remove particular apps from the children’s phones, which one might find dangerous. “It is a satisfying and rewarding experience for us when children write in to convey how our app has helped them improve their grades and realize that their true value doesn’t lie in social media comments shared by peers.” For parents, OurPact gives them peace of mind by keeping them up to speed with their child’s day-to-day life. The app essentially takes a screenshot of the child’s device and, using machine learning, scans the contents and specific keywords on the page to give a parent an idea of what the child’s potentially being exposed to or what they are writing about. This has helped many parents dive deeper into problems their kids are facing—if they are depressed or having suicidal thoughts—so that they can intervene at the right time.

Powering through with Innovation at the Core
Moussavian attributes the success of his company to his dynamic, incredible teams. “My first investment in innovation is focused on recruiting and maintaining the best talent in the industry. It all starts with having the right team; when you have the best talent and provide them a clear vision and a solid strategy, the innovation flows,” he says. “I have always been wired to think about how technology can tackle problems and inefficiencies, and I consistently challenge my team to think the same way.”
For Moussavian and his team, having the vision to identify a problem and the vision to derive a solution is always the starting point. This makes way for brainstorming sessions among the team, competitive analysis, research, and, importantly, talking to current or potential customers to refine the solutions. Building a roadmap early in the process is foundational but being flexible to adapt and adjust is just as essential to the long-term success of Eturi. While culture is a critical element to a company’s success, one cannot expect culture to happen “accidentally.” Moussavian remarks, “Part of what makes Eturi successful is that I’ve spent time defining and cultivating the organization’s culture. I also lean into my team leaders to help refine and guide our culture, ensure it’s clear and well communicated to the entire company and that we all live it.”
All Eyes on the Future
Eturi has developed an aggressive roadmap for Motiv throughout 2021, which includes additional integrations across multiple collaboration and productivity tools and increased depth of data availability. And with these expansions, the company is steadfast in its vision to provide insight, not an oversight, to business leaders, helping to deliver overall business goals. Eturi is focused on the continued innovation of the OurPact app. The company has been ideating enhancements to continue to deliver the most comprehensive parental control and screen time management app. While both of those will take a significant amount of focus in 2021, Eturi always has its eyes on possible expansion opportunities for its portfolio. The company is also looking to strengthen its support team to cater to the increasing customer demands, both for families and businesses.
Eturi Launches Motiv App, An Executive Dashboard for Leaders of Remote Teams
The developers of industry-leading parenting app, OurPact, have ventured into the remote business solutions market
SAN DIEGO – The San-Diego based software company that launched the award-winning parenting app, Ourpact.com, has announced the launch of a new solution, Motiv, to address the burgeoning work-from-home market.
In response to the dramatic restructuring of work practices on the heels of COVID-19, many leaders are seeking ways to evaluate activity in their newly decentralized organizations. Through a mobile-first dashboard, Motiv offers an unparalleled solution that provides CEOs and business leads assurance that their key team members are collaborating on projects and engaged with their daily responsibilities. Notably, Motiv ensures privacy as it requires no plug-ins, nor is anything installed on company computers—a significant differentiator in the space. Thanks to its light-weight nature, the Motiv app can be easily used by both small and medium-sized businesses, which have been underserved by the existing employee productivity software solutions market.
An established expert in scalable remote management software, Eturi Corp. recognized the opportunity to contribute to the modernization of business practices when the pandemic hit. Their popular application OurPact, which over 1 million families use, allows parents to supervise and manage their children’s screen time activities remotely. The Eturi team has been able to use its subject matter expertise to catapult its technology into a needed market segment: business software solutions.
“I understand how challenging it is to lead effectively from a decentralized operation,” says Amir Moussavian, the CEO of Eturi Corp. “I value the corner office vantage point – being able to tune into the hum and buzz of my team collaborating. Who is meeting with who? Is my product manager getting enough minutes with appropriate stakeholders in advance of an upcoming release? Now, I can access those key insights from my device and subsequently use them to make decisions and lead effectively in real-time.”
Motiv’s initial reporting focuses on providing conference call activity and email summaries with integrations into Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Motiv has also launched a deeper integration with Google Meets data, allowing more insightful analytics into audio/video conference calls including tracking scheduled versus attended time to determine if recurring meetings are being over scheduled.
Additional integrations are slated for future release. Motiv is available free of charge for a limited time through the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. To sign up, navigate to motivapp.com or search for Motiv in your mobile app store.
