Faster Payments for a Smarter Practice

FeeWise

For modern law firms, getting paid should be as seamless as delivering great legal work. FeeWise makes that possible, offering a purpose-built payments platform that helps small and mid-sized firms get paid faster, in full and with minimal effort.

The innovative payments platform automates billing from invoice to reconciliation, making it easier for clients to pay and firms to stay on top of finances. With features like automatic invoice-linked payments, client-friendly checkout options and seamless legal software integration, it is tackling one of the industry's biggest pain points—cash flow—head-on.

“Every part of our platform is designed to eliminate payment friction, enabling law firms to focus on delivering great legal work, not chasing payments,” says David Wills, CEO.

Collecting fees on time is a persistent challenge for law firms. They are asking their clients to pay often large, unexpected bills at a stressful time – so making payment as convenient as possible helps law firms get paid faster and in full. It also means less time chasing clients.

FeeWise was built to solve cash collections for law firms. At the core of its platform is the deepest legal software integration on the market. When a law firm creates an invoice or trust payment request within its practice management software, FeeWise automatically attaches a context-aware payment link. Clients are directed to a branded payment page showing exactly what they owe. With the platform’s “Matter Statement Checkout” feature, they can view and pay multiple outstanding balances in one seamless transaction. Once a payment is made, the law firm is instantly notified, and the transaction details are synced back into the practice management system for easy reconciliation.

Every part of our platform is designed to eliminate payment friction, enabling law firms to focus on delivering great legal work, not chasing payments

Developed in response to early user feedback, “Matter Statement Checkout” has become one of the platform’s most effective tools. It simplifies collections by consolidating multiple outstanding invoices into a single, intuitive payment experience, even accommodating split payments across accounts. One firm used it to recover 27 overdue invoices in a single transaction.

This same user-focused approach extends to the platform’s overall design. The dashboard experience is built for simplicity and flexibility. Whether using customizable payment links, scheduling recurring plans for retainers or installments, or securely storing card details via Card Safe, every feature is designed to be intuitive and ready to use with no steep learning curve. Law firms can even print QR codes or add links to emails, websites, or cost agreements to make payment access effortless.

FeeWise is also fully IOLTA/trust compliant, allowing firms to collect upfront retainers and trust deposits with ease. For firms aiming to stabilize their cash flow, this level of compliance and convenience makes taking advance payments a smart and simple strategy.

It has removed the financial barriers that often deter firms from adopting digital payments. Eliminating setup and subscription fees, offering some of the lowest transaction rates in the legal industry, and allowing firms to pass those fees on to clients, has made the switch to online payments a financially sound decision.

Support is another area where FeeWise sets itself apart. Most firms are fully onboarded in just 30 minutes of personalized training, and FeeWise’s support team remains readily available to assist with setup, answer a product question, or help firms optimize collections.

FeeWise has expanded rapidly into the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and will shortly be launching its product in Australia and New Zealand. The focused approach is paying off. Since reaching $1 million in monthly volume in August 2023, FeeWise has scaled quickly and now processes nearly $50 million monthly.

Looking ahead, FeeWise is expanding its capabilities while staying true to its core promise: simplicity. With deep industry insight and a focus on practical innovation, the team continues to position the platform as more than just software—a strategic ally that removes friction from every stage of the payment journey.
