The vision of connecting enterprises with diverse technologies available in the market led to the inception of Flywheel Data. “We empower companies to stay updated with the technology that meets their specific IT and business goals,” begins Michael Parks, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Flywheel Data. The company resells technology of major hardware and software players including Red Hat to solve the challenges faced by its clientele. “Our role is to ensure our clients are successful with rolling out large scale IT programs, whether that is by helping them select the right technologies and products, or helping them integrate and develop custom software.” The company utilizes its expertise in assisting the customers to adopt appropriate solutions that uses best of breed products. “Sometimes it is as simple as educating our clients on existing products they can leverage to address their requirements. However, often it is much more involved and requires us to roll up our sleeves and help architect solutions with a variety of integrated technologies,” says Parks.

Today, cloud and data-driven decision-making are significant for enterprises to meet their customer’s expectations. Red Hat’s technologies complement these trends from an IT perspective. By leveraging Red Hat’s product portfolio, Flywheel Data assists their clients in adopting and leveraging data in the cloud. For instance, for clients adopting cloud strategies, Flywheel Data guides them on pros and cons to building a private cloud versus leveraging a public cloud. “We help our customers to understand the technological, cultural, financial, and security aspects of cloud adoption,” states Parks.

To meet customers’ demands, Flywheel Data actively manages their partner ecosystem. “Our partners come in all different shapes and sizes, from large data storage manufactures to cyber security firms to small software start-ups. However, each and every one of them provides specific value to our clients,” says Parks. If Flywheel Data’s partner ecosystem lacks the technology one of their customers need, the company has been known to establish the appropriate partnership quickly.

“We have the ability to form on-the-fly-partnerships to ensure our clients are getting what they need, when they need it. If a client needs a product or service that we currently do not offer, we will make sure to go partner with a best of breed provider,” says Parks.

Focused on delivering results to customers, Flywheel Data follows disciplines that include agile methodology, rapid prototyping, and Minimally Viable Products (MVP) that are often used in developing software. “The terms Agile, MVP, and rapid prototyping come from the software world. But we use them as guiding principles to interact with our customers, whether we are discussing a hardware solution, developing software for them, or integrating a multi-product solution,” says Parks.

With its emphasis on customer retention, Flywheel Data hires experts in several domains to assist their clients. In the years to come, Flywheel Data plans to expand its footprint to new customers while also growing deeper and more intimate with its current customers. “We can continue to grow deeper with our current customers because we do not have our own Intellectual Property to promote. This allows us the freedom to always partner and resell the most relevant products to our customers,” concludes Parks.
