The company understands that an organization’s CFO and his team are no longer just number crunchers. Over the years, their role has broadened beyond matching the numbers and preparing static reports at the end of the month owing to changing revenue models. As block grants have fallen out of favor in recent years, organizations increasingly embrace a revenue model based on outcomes. For that reason, they require virtual and instant access to business information to ensure that they are billing and receiving the payments on time. “In essence, a CFO handles a lot more than number crunching, they play a predominant role in the organization and act as trusted advisors,” mentions Nunzio Giunta, Managing Partner of Giuntabell. Only a technology platform capable of automating their month-end closing can make their job easy in this context. For that reason, Giuntabell utilizes Sage Intacct’s charity and not-for-profit financial management platform to support its clients. Utilizing the platform to automate critical processes, the company reduces spreadsheet-related headaches and provides greater visibility into the realtime performance of the organization. This enables the finance team to spend more time analyzing and interpreting data instead of wasting time on data entry.
Many of Giuntabell’s potential customers reach out to them through referrals from professional networks and the Sage Group. When a new customer approaches Giuntabell, the company communicates extensively with them to understand their pain points. “The more we know the client, the more we can add value to the client’s financial matters,” says Giunta. After a detailed scoping, the company summarizes findings, which is a playback of their initial discussions.
This is followed by a joint decision with the client to provide them with an overview of the proposal. While implementing the technology stack, the company starts with a demo of Sage Intacct. After discussing the price with the client, the company goes on to deploy the platform. Giuntabell then comes with an outcome-based pricing model to charge for their services. In this model, the customer is charged based on the desired outcomes rather than hourly billing.
The more we know the client, the more we can add value to the client’s financial matters
Giuntabell serves many not-forprofits and charities in Australia. In one instance, Westgate Community Initiatives Group (WCIG), a disability employment service provider, approached them for an interim CFO. After stepping in, Giuntabell discovered that the client’s existing accounting system was inadequate to cater to their business needs. The company deployed Sage Intacct’s financial management system to support the client as the platform contained advanced modules that helped them in revenue recognition and allocations, grant management, and more. With Sage Intacct, the finance team moved to a self-service model, which allowed them to provide dashboards for each of the organization’s department heads. Moreover, the client’s finance team started completing the monthly close in record time.
Such success stories stem from Giuntabell’s commitment to serving not-for-profits and charity organizations with pride. They have won many recognitions for their devoted service, including the Sage finance futurist award, Sage Intacct Sales Excellence award 2020, Sage Growth Excellence award 2020 and Sage Platinum winner 2020. More recently, Nunzio Giunta was awarded the prestigious not-forprofit accountant of the year award at the Accountants Daily Australian Accounting Awards 2021. Giunta’s passion and commitment to the nonprofit sector is well translated into his efforts. As a CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) qualified expert in financial matters of not-for-profits, he believes that organizations that make a difference in the community should be successful. He serves in a voluntary capacity as an advisory member of many organizations such as the Australian Taxation Office’s Not-for-Profit Stewardship Group, the Australian Accounting Standards Board Not-for-Profit Advisory Panel, and is Chair of the CPA Queensland Not-For- Profit committee. Moving ahead, the company plans to continually evolve and augment its technology stack to eliminate human intervention in many finance-related tasks.
