Brandon Acuff shares the success story of one among many of Harmonic Consulting’s clients. An engineering company for the golf industry with a requirement of a solution that would allow them to offer better maintenance services at golf courses needed assistance. Harmonic provided the means to let users collect and visualize data (moisture content, turf firmness) on-the-go from their mobile devices thus eliminating the need for a computer, cable and GPS accessory. An IoT-based ecosystem was developed to capture and collect pre-existing golf course data via Bluetooth LE. The systems allowed superintendents and management the ability to collect real-time data from their crews, enabling them to better plan and integrate with sprinkler management, maintenance staff work structures and task prioritization at golf courses. Historical data, reports, and other data analytics were made available via desktop.

Having climbed the ladder of success many times, Harmonic Consulting is at the forefront of developing a new product suite based on “IoT as a Service” to enable faster implementation of the technology and plans to release it in Q3 of 2019. An estimated 20 billion devices are set to be connected to IoT services by 2020, and this is a point that the company sees as a welcoming prospect.
