Enhancing Productivity with IoT-enabled Predictive Maintenance

The Industry 4.0 revolution is changing how companies manufacture their products and operate factories, and predictive maintenance (PdM) is the holy grail of this sensor-driven revolution.

According to a study by Forrester, 47 percent of global manufacturers use predictive maintenance technologies to reduce operational costs.

Helping organizations leverage advanced data analytics to predict and avoid machine failures is Industrial Matrix.

Industrial Matrix is an all-encompassing asset management and predictive maintenance platform for industrial manufacturing facilities seeking to prevent costly failures, maximize asset utilization, and reduce operational costs. It helps manufacturers address asset management challenges using the latest IoT-based sensors to collect, analyze, access, and use real-time asset data to improve maintenance outcomes.

Industrial Matrix's online module enables clients to predict and prevent failures on their assets through sensors that capture real-time data from assets. With an arsenal of technologies such as vibration, temperature, and ultrasound, the module provides actionable insights based on the issues detected. Through the module, clients can then quickly find spares, crossovers, and compatible components to facilitate workflow continuity.

The maintenance of crucial bearings is further optimized by LubeMatrix. This solution delivers autonomous, condition-based lubrication to ensure bearings are appropriately and timely lubricated with efficient use of lubricants. By utilizing Ultrasound, LubeMatrix monitors the lubrication of a bearing and dispenses lubricant accordingly to achieve effective precision lubrication.

"Our platform's modules create that seamless marriage between asset management and predictive maintenance, paving the way for unparalleled equipment efficiency," says Steven Pamensky, founder and CEO at Industrial Matrix.

The onboarding process begins with surveying a client's facility to assess and evaluate the functioning of critical rotating assets, such as electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, and bearings. Based on this evaluation, the team of experts at Industrial Matrix writes an algorithm that shows the interchangeability of those assets. Wireless sensors are then installed onto the equipment. The algorithm facilitates data collection from sensors, generating critical insights and displaying them on the platform. The maintenance team will receive customized notifications based on the data and provide them with actionable insights and all the information they need to perform the corrective action. The real-time data enables clients to prevent system failures, maximize asset utilization, and reduce operational costs.

Solutions are tailored to a customer's unique needs by adopting a bottom-up approach, which involves understanding the unique workforces and factory workflows. Every client is assigned a dedicated customer success manager from the Industrial Matrix team, who will then play an essential role in building a culture of reliability with the client from the beginning to end.

Industrial Matrix's primary focus is to utilize and implement the most feature-rich, robust, comprehensive management system. Pamensky validates this by recounting his personal experiences and the series of events that led to the inception of Industrial Matrix. He found most manufacturing facilities were in dire need of robust predictive maintenance and asset management solutions. Pamensky leveraged his knowledge of software services and manufacturing processes to deliver his vision of a futuristic, all encompassing asset management and predictive maintenance platform into reality. He built a solution for manufacturing facilities to strengthen the reliability of their operations, increase asset lifetime, and reduce unplanned downtime.

This solution's capabilities prompted an industrial bakery to seek the assistance of Industrial Matrix. The client's maintenance team was previously hindered by disorganized machinery and was missing quantifiable data regarding the functioning of these machines. Industrial Matrix provided accessibility to real-time data, including asset specifications, current condition, and even the number of hours a machine is down, enabling the maintenance team to make time and cost-saving decisions. Every week, the maintenance crew showed up to an onboarding meeting, where they'd go through the data with their customer success manager analyze it, and take corrective actions based on that data. Combining predictive maintenance and asset management gave the bakery's maintenance team the ability to make decisions based on numbers. Within six months, the calculated ROI was about 12 times more than what the client had initially invested.

Our platform's modules create that seamless marriage between asset management and predictive maintenance, paving the way for unparalleled equipment efficiency

Industrial Matrix is a constantly evolving company that brings new technologies to meet a client's dynamic needs. Its team comprises of experts with significant industrial expertise and experience, from CAT I and CAT II vibration-certified analysts to ultrasound level one and two certified analysts. They deeply understand client needs and structure their offerings to maximize value for them.

A fast-growing tech, Industrial Matrix is on the highway to success as it has grown by a whopping 900 percent this year. Soon, Industrial Matrix will introduce PdMMatrix+, a solution that teaches the module to think like an advanced vibration analyst, yielding defined faults, enhancing autonomous prescriptive maintenance, and further enhancing notification that guides corrective action better than ever.
