Pioneering a New Approach for Combating Advanced Cyber Attacks

Invincea

Anup Ghosh, CEO
As targeted attacks continue to accelerate, both in volume and success, Invincea is filling an essential market gap left by traditional security solutions.

The Ponemon Institute’s recent study on breaches in organizations found that the average cost of cyber attacks per year in US corporations with more than 1,000 employees was $12.6 million in 2014. Of the 59 companies surveyed, every one of them suffered an attack with the minimum cost incurred totaling over $1.5 million.

Invincea believes that today’s CISOs need to rethink security strategy, as the traditional approach of focusing on known threats only will not stop the kinds of attacks enterprises actually experience. This is because each advanced weapon launched by attackers is designed to look unique and as a result is unknown and invisible to defenses that count on signatures to detect them. In these types of targeted attacks, these traditional protection mechanisms are rendered useless. The Invincea advanced threat protection platform provides enterprises of all sizes protection against these attack vectors, which typically include spear-phishing, drive-by download exploits, watering hole attacks, poisoned search results, ransomware, and user-initiated infections.

The importance of Invincea’s focus only continues to grow – a fact supported by a recent report from industry research firm Gartner, who estimates that by year-end 2016, 20% of enterprises will implement Windows containment mechanisms for end users handling untrusted content and code, up from less than 1% in 2013.

The company has been in market with its award-winning products since 2009. Its technology currently protects nearly 20,000 companies around the globe and more than 1.5 million users. The company is venture capital-backed and based in Fairfax, VA.

Innovation for the Federal Sector

Invincea understands the unique requirements of national security. The company’s founder and CEO, Dr. Anup Ghosh, is a former DARPA program manager who developed Invincea’s advanced threat protection platform from a DARPA funded project. In addition, Invincea’s Labs team is comprised of recognized innovators with backgrounds in government and government contracting and hold top level security clearances.

Today Invincea Labs performs advanced research and development on national security problems related to cyber security.

Innovation for the Private Sector

In addition, many Invincea team members have broad experience in innovating for the private sector. Team members have been involved with a number of successful security start-ups that have dramatically changed the security landscape.

The security industry is ripe for innovation. After years of security technology stagnation on endpoints, the industry has signaled it is now poised to adopt game changing advanced endpoint threat solutions like Invincea brings to market

Products

The company's flagship solution, Invincea FreeSpace™, is an endpoint security solution that is managed by an enterprise server appliance to provide central management, reporting and threat intelligence capture and feeds. FreeSpace is recognized as a game-changing security solution that uses a strategy of containment, detection, prevention and intelligence to fight back against corporate adversaries and strengthen an organization's broader security infrastructure.

The Invincea Management Server provides the capabilities to centrally manage diverse groups of users, rapidly push updates and provide detailed reporting on deployments. Whenever an attack occurs, FreeSpace™ provides detailed forensic information to the Invincea Management Server
