With a long heritage in solution integration, arguably Kelway came to the Microsoft party late. However, they have more than made up for it with the investments made in their burgeoning Microsoft practice. Phil Doye, Kelway CEO explains “we have a first-class track record in building strong solutions practices aligned to key vendors. We hold leadership positions in the UK with VMware, Citrix and Cisco to name but a few. Each practice offers complete solutions for our customers from consultation and deployment to migration and management. With so much knowledge and skill accumulated in these areas, we simply turned the blueprint to Microsoft”.
The practice is now one of the most highly decorated in the country, boasting seven Gold accreditations and four Silver. Importantly, with the focus has also come scale, such that a potential customer need not go anywhere else for guidance on Microsoft technology. “We can assist them with absolutely everything. Licensing, consultancy, support and right across the entire Microsoft portfolio. I’m also proud that all of this is delivered in-house, by our own people, which helps us be responsive and remain at the forefront of the technology” continues Doye.
Much of Kelway’s growth has been fuelled by aligning closely with Microsoft’s Mobile First, Cloud First strategy, then pioneering innovative new services around the consumption of technology and access to the support and skills customers seek. For example, their ServiceWorks Office365 Hybrid solution, is a complementary service to Office365, built on their own cloud platform to handle Active Directory federation and synchronisation.
Similar, advances have also been made with Microsoft’s Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) where they are one of the first Partners in the UK to offer an entire managed service based on the new product covering devices, connectivity and support.
Microsoft has seen it fit to recognise Kelway’s growth and creativity, by inviting them to join their new Cloud Service Provider Program. Aimed in the main at sub-250 seat organisations, the program will enable Kelway to control the relationship, billing and support mechanisms for customers interested in Office365, EMS and shortly Azure, something they believe will present new opportunities for innovation both technically and commercially around Microsoft technology.
“The last two years working with Microsoft has been really exciting for us. We’ve broken lots of new ground and I believe we have shown great commitment to them in the process. Whilst our core strength has been delivering solutions in mid-market(85 percent of Kelway’s business is for 500+ user organisations), we are now seeing excellent penetration above and below this segment which is really pleasing” concludes Doye.
Kelway’s achievements with Microsoft are one in a long list of recent accomplishments for the business, including recent recognition as both CRN Reseller and Managed Services Provider of the Year. And, following the recent investment in the business by CDW, the world’s largest reseller, it is hard not to see the success story continuing, as Kelway looks to build on these accolades delivering solutions across the globe.
