CIOREVIEW >> Artificial Intelligence >> Mr. Bizzy

Mr. Bizzy has been recognized by CIOReview Magazine as the recipient of “Top Business AI Assistant Solution In Canada 2025,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry. This profile has been developed by the CIOReview research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Azfar Mahmood, Founder and CEO.

Mr. Bizzy
The No-App AI Assistant

Mr. Bizzy

Azfar Mahmood, Founder and CEO
The CEO of a multinational company can send a quick text to their assistant— “reschedule the call” or “send me the report”—and it’s done. But small business owners, already juggling many roles, are stuck handling even the smallest tasks.

AI assistants hold promise, but most aren’t built as a solution for the corner shop or a two-person team. They are designed for large enterprises that can afford feature-heavy platforms, packed with dashboards and complex setups. But that strips away what users actually needed; the ease of handing off a task with a simple message.

Mr. Bizzy was built to solve that issue. It provides small and midsize businesses (SMB) with an AI business assistant that simplifies routine administrative tasks.

With a no-app patent-pending design and integration with WhatsApp, SMS and email via API, Mr. Bizzy lives inside the apps where day-to-day work conversations already happen. From within those familiar channels, it quietly takes care of time-consuming administrative tasks, such as simplifying bookkeeping and expense tracking.

Equally valuable for both SMBs and large enterprises, using the AI assistant feels no different than messaging a colleague. It is as simple as snapping a photo of a receipt, forwarding it on WhatsApp, and typing, “Add today’s Esso gas expense of $100.” In seconds, Mr. Bizzy identifies the vendor, date and amount, and creates a record.

Suddenly, the hours lost every Friday night or at month’s end, spent keying in expenses with stray receipts and reconciling statements manually, shrink into minutes. By the time the week closes, the books are already in order. Instead of hiring an assistant at $5 an hour or spending time and money installing, learning and juggling multiple apps, SMBs now have the relief of a dependable ally in Mr. Bizzy, always available on the other side of a simple text—all at a subscription cost of $10–$50 per month per workflow.

This message-first paradigm changes the technology adoption math for SMBs. It eliminates the friction of traditional software rollouts, with a near-zero learning curve. By eliminating those hurdles, Mr. Bizzy makes advanced AI assistance practical for businesses that were previously shut out.

We started with bookkeeping and expense tracking, but our long-term goal is much bigger to automate the wider circle of SMBS’ administrative tasks and lift them off the owner’s shoulders, one by one, until running a business feels lighter at every turn.

“Our value isn’t just in convenience; it’s in giving SMBs the same edge that corporate giants enjoy with automation—time and cost,” says Azfar Mahmood, founder and CEO.

His own experience running a small IT shop sparked the idea. “We were drowning in receipts and reports. Rather than accept the clutter, we turned to what we knew best—data warehousing and AI— to build a tool that could extract insights, categorize costs and integrate seamlessly with existing systems,” he adds.

What began as a fix for his own struggles has evolved into a powerful promise for SMBs everywhere.

One of the first adopters was a small construction company. With multiple crews spread across various projects, expenses accumulated in fragments that were nearly impossible to reconcile. Mr. Bizzy’s project-level tracking feature brought order to the chaos, automatically grouping each receipt under the right job and giving the owner a level of clarity that manual consolidation could never match.

“While we have started with bookkeeping and expense tracking, our long-term goal is to automate the wider circle of SMBs’ administrative tasks and lift them off the owner’s shoulders, one by one, until running a business feels lighter at every turn,” adds Mahmood.

The Workflow Engine Inside Mr. Bizzy

What appears to be a simple chat interface of Mr. Bizzy is, in fact, much more complex beneath the surface. The comprehensive workflow engine of the platform is built on enterprise-grade infrastructure.

At the foundation is Microsoft Azure, which provides the muscle to process sensitive financial and customer data with security, scale smoothly as the client base grows and run complex workflows without breaking a sweat. Beyond simple cloud storage, Azure offers a robust backbone that supports Mr. Bizzy’s multiple layers of functionality—optical character recognition (OCR) to extract details from documents and natural language processing (NLP) for interpreting the instructions.

Orchestrating these features is what makes Mr. Bizzy not just another AI chatbot limited to answering questions. Mr. Bizzy transforms unstructured inputs, such as dates, vendors and amounts from a shared receipt, into structured reports, and then executes the user’s rules for custom classification, tax separation or even currency conversion. The reply is delivered back through the same messaging channel or any other messaging tool the user prefers.

One Canadian client noticed the difference immediately. For years, the client had juggled supplier bills in multiple currencies, wasting time and risking mistakes. With Bizzy, every invoice now lands in Canadian dollars—consistent, accurate and ready for reporting.

Even if OCR misreads a detail, such as a faded date on a receipt, the correction can be made instantly within the same conversation. The owner simply sends a short message, “fix the data,” and Mr. Bizzy applies the update, confirming the corrected entry back to the user while eliminating the need for manual logging of the details. This conversational feedback loop keeps the workflow frictionless and ensures accuracy without adding complexity.

”We stay close to SMBs across sectors, listening to their daily struggles, and that feedback shapes every step of Mr. Bizzy’s journey, because it’s all about the people who use it.”

All the details that Mr. Bizzy processes are stored in a secure database, along with the original documents, providing small businesses with a reliable audit trail. When the owner needs a summary, there is no need to dig through files or reconcile spreadsheets. A simple “Summarize my August 2025 expenses,” is enough. Mr. Bizzy compiles all logged expenses in a categorized spreadsheet with zipped receipts and sends them via email.

Handling financial records and statements leaves no room for error or exposure to risk, either. Mr. Bizzy’s security design assures trust. Information moves through TLS-encrypted channels, the same standard used in online banking. Files are stored within Microsoft Azure’s secure environment, where users benefit from the platform’s compliance certifications and access controls. To further strengthen this posture, SOC 2 audits are planned. These independent reviews confirm that Mr. Bizzy meets recognized standards for data security and confidentiality, providing clients with additional assurance that their information is protected and handled with care.

Where a Small Team Meets Big Output

Mr. Bizzy’s development process is lean by design. Only a handful of developers form the core team, while coding, testing and deployment are accelerated through AI tools. This model keeps the cycle fast and efficient, with human oversight reserved for judgment calls, creative design and fine-tuning. Because of this approach, small businesses get features and updates quickly.

“It’s our way of doing business, proving that we are large enough to serve you and small enough to know you,” says Mahmood.

Mr. Bizzy never intends to add unnecessary layers to the solution and compromise on the very promise it was built on. Instead, it is focused on scaling with artificial intelligence. New AI tools are being actively tested, refined and embedded into its development workflow. The goal is to enable a single experienced developer to lead an entire “virtual team” of AI-powered coding and testing agents. In this model, development shifts from manually writing code to orchestrating intelligent tools that can deploy software even more rapidly and accurately.

Work Lighter, Work Bigger: The Bizzy Way Forward

“We stay close to SMBs across sectors, listening to their daily struggles, and that feedback shapes every step of Mr. Bizzy’s journey, because it’s all about the people who use it,” says Mahmood.

The first step on this journey is tackling one of the biggest headaches for business owners—unpaid invoices. Instead of asking businesses to abandon the invoicing tools they already use, Mr. Bizzy will step in to track payments. Owners will copy their invoices to Mr. Bizzy when they send them out, and as payment confirmation arrives by email or WhatsApp, Mr. Bizzy will instantly recognize and match it to the right invoice. For plumbers, contractors and service providers sending out multiple invoices each week, this feature cuts through the guesswork of who has paid and who still owes.

Its WhatsApp-based virtual assistant is also closing the gap between businesses and their customers. Designed for simplicity, it gives small businesses an effortless, plug-and-play way to manage client inquiries and share information. A realtor, for instance, can upload property listings, share the Mr. Bizzy WhatsApp number with clients, and allow prospects to explore listings directly within the chat. Once a lead shows interest, the assistant seamlessly connects them back to the realtor for a one-to-one conversation. The same model helps any small business promote its products, respond to customer questions, and engage clients without any technical setup or additional tools.

Project tracking and time management will soon follow suit, providing businesses in construction, IT and services with a simple way to monitor hours and costs. Team members will be able to send a quick end-of-day message to Mr. Bizzy, “logged eight hours on Project A,” and the system will automatically roll it into project-level reporting. For owners, that means less paperwork and a clearer picture of costs that flow directly into billing.

Mr. Bizzy aims to introduce image-based workflows for field-intensive industries as well. Picture a utility worker or contractor snapping a photo of equipment in the field, sending it to Bizzy, and having the system read and log the details on the spot. What used to require manual data entry or paperwork can now be handled instantly, right from a phone.

There are plans underway for deeper integrations with the tools SMBs already rely on. The team is building bridges between Bizzy and the everyday systems small businesses use—such as QuickBooks and custom client applications—so the platform becomes a seamless part of their existing workflow. The first release of its QuickBooks Online integration debuts at the company’s October conference, alongside live demonstrations of a new logistics platform that streamlines customer ordering through Mr. Bizzy’s WhatsApp and SMS–based, no-app model.

Geography will never be a barrier. While Mr. Bizzy’s early focus is on the Canadian market, as demand grows and partnerships open new doors, it is preparing for a global footprint where any small business can run its operations simply by messaging their assistant.

With every new feature rollout, Mr. Bizzy’s vision is clear; making business feel lighter, faster and far more human. It is not just an assistant for today’s to-do list, but a partner reshaping what small business life can look like tomorrow.

All a business owner needs to do is hail, “Hey Bizzy!”
