Nediar was founded nearly a decade ago, in light of the growing need of airline companies in Colombia and other Latin American countries for affordable and easier training alternatives that do not compromise on quality. Today, with a steady workforce, Nediar has established itself as a valuable entity in the Latin American aeronautical space. All of Nediar’s products and solutions can be customized as per market requirements and regulations and embrace a modular structure for easy setup while easily integrating with other technologies or peripherals. Ospina mentions an instance to exemplify Nediar’s capabilities in meeting its clients’ unique requirements wherein the company had built a hybrid mock-up to train cabin crews for both Airbus A320 and A330.
Nediar’s airplane parts replicas such as sides and life rafts are ideal for ditching training and simulation of an emergency evacuation. They are specifically designed to withstand prolonged use for training sessions. The company also builds door trainer modules whose dimensions and functioning are based on real characteristics of airplane doors.
In addition to their portfolio of aircraft replicas, Nediar offers extensive 3D simulation-based learning tools (e-training) that combine the best of AR/ VR technologies. The e-training solutions embrace agamified approach to learning with content that can be consumed by the crew even at work. Such a “learn by doing” approach assures higher information recall levels among trainees. Besides, e-training comprises intricate learning levels associated with analysis, application, and evaluation aimed at problem-solving. Due to the immense popularity of e-training among its clientele, Nediar has begun developing similar training solutions for companies in other industry verticals as well, such as food and health establishments, and others that can benefit by leveraging technology to provide effective training.
The second prong of Nediar’s expertise relates to the cutting-edge equipment it offers, such as the ground support equipment (GSE) and special tools for MRO. Nediar can manufacture customized GSE based on clients’ specifications, and all its products comply with standards established by occupational safety and health administration (OSHA.) Citing an example of the unique tools that Nediar makes, Ospina notes, “Our innovation unit has developed a USB charger for the Colombian Air Force. With this device, the crew in the UH-60 helicopter can charge the tablets to get the navigation information in flight.”
Evidently, owing to its agility in diversifying and serving more industries and commitment to client satisfaction, Nediar has emerged as one of the most innovative companies in Colombia in the last two years. The company has a strategic RDI unit certified by MinCiencias in Colombia and would soon be certified AS9100D. This will allow the company to develop more technologies and capabilities in the aeronautical industry. Having carved a unique niche in this sector, Nediar, looking ahead, plans to expand its presence internationally. “In near future, we plan to establish offices in Asia Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East. It would enable us to offer better support to our clients, while facilitating newer product rollouts,” concludes Ospina.
