It is a solution that can be integrated with any existing login flow to replace the traditional password login with users' devices biometric mechanism. Coming from the developers of Gigya, a prominent consumer identity and access management platform, which was named as a Forrester leader, the platform is expert-assured and secure.
With OwnID, both existing and new users can use their phone's biometricsbased cryptographic keys, including Passkeys (for supported devices), to authenticate and register into a website. While new users can directly register their biometrics and proceed, existing users are verified using mail passcodes to authenticate, side by side with their passwords with biometrics. From the second time, every user can instantly log in without hassle, without inconvenient login walls or the trouble of forgetting their login ID or password.
For users without biometric authentication keys on their phones, OwnID sends one-time links, called magic links, that users can click on to log in directly without passwords. Users who want to browse from their laptops or desktops are presented with a QR code, which can be scanned with their phones to log in. OwnID’s solution supports Passkeys from all enabled vendors including Apple, Google and Microsoft.
The onboarding process is as simple as the solution. Companies can do it themselves. All they need to do is go to console.ownid.com, create an account, and choose the platform where they wish to incorporate OwnID, like websites or applications. OwnID's plug-in gets set up in less than an hour for compatible websites, while others take up to a day. Although clients are provided with basic instructions and answers to FAQs, OwnID's customer support is always available to respond to additional queries they may have.
Nestle is one of OwnID's prominent clients. They leveraged OwnID's passwordless login in one of their regional websites and witnessed great results and customer flow. Driven by that, Nestle extended OwnID to over 20 additional websites and saw tremendous growth in user logins. The results also inspired DeLonghi to incorporate OwnID in four of their brands in a region and gradually expand it to more areas. They witnessed a 20 to 25 percent increase in new users.
