Fortifying Data Transmission Environments

PacketGo Inc. reshapes communication security with its advanced zero trust services, designed to strengthen defense against cyber threats. A leading communication technology service provider in the U.S., it has established a significant presence in the zero trust industry, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, with a strong focus on the Korean market.

In these markets, despite the availability of advanced security tools, businesses continue to rely on outdated IP technology and network configurations susceptible to modern cyber threats, such as DDoS attacks, ransomware and phishing. The situation necessitates a fundamental change in communication and network strategies.

PacketGo solves these issues by offering a zero trust model that updates and strengthens clients' security practices. The flexible solution seamlessly integrates with existing, legacy security environments. It allows clients to balance budgetary constraints while gradually advancing to more secure and modernized infrastructures, all with the ongoing support of the team.

“We have designed our solution to ensure secure data transmission anywhere and anytime,” says Young Rang Kim, founder and CEO.

To guarantee the security, PacketGo utilizes advanced communication technology that offers superior visibility and control over users’ communication networks. Unlike conventional technology that focuses primarily on connecting devices, PacketGo’s approach offers a detailed view of both the devices in the network and the specifics of the data being transmitted. It does this across all types of networks, both internal or external.

Building on this enhanced visibility, PacketGo’s approach to compliance, authentication and verification focuses on both the user and the devices. This dual active operating posture check is delivered through software-defined perimeter (SDP), microsegmentation and enhanced identity governance (EIG). The SDP creates dynamic, secure boundaries around user groups, applications and data, effectively hiding critical resources from unauthorized users and allowing only verified entities to interact with the network.

Micro-segmentation divides the network into smaller, isolated segments, for specific control over data flow and access permissions. Employing EIG, it offers advanced identity governance to continuously authenticate and authorize every access request.

We have designed our solution to ensure secure data transmission anywhere and anytime

Using these solutions, it successfully assisted POSCO International, a major Korean steel manufacturer with numerous global subsidiaries, to implement a remote work system to securely connect the intranet and data center at its headquarters. Competing against major network solution providers, PacketGo achieved successful benchmark testing and proof of concept results, leading the client to adopt its services. A year later, POSCO shifted its resource strategy to focus on digital experiences in the cloud, expanding the use of PacketGo to support more users and locations. This transition resulted in improved communication efficiency, faster workspace connectivity and significant cost reductions, essentially achieving three major benefits with a single solution.

The team also supports government agencies in Korea to develop a more reliable solution for their multi-regional offices.

PacketGo’s competitive edge in the market is defined by its dual focus on communication technology and network topology, exemplified by its PacketGo RAN. Deployed in diverse environments such as 5G smart cities and campuses, this solution provides cutting-edge sampling and testing capabilities. It is also expanding its network solutions with secure access service edge (SASE), supported by over 158 active patents and trademarks, including in the U.S.

It is working towards implementing multilevel security, classifying its cloud-based data as ‘moderate’ or ‘low’ under FIPS standards, with ‘high’ security reserved for isolated networks. It also plans to offer risk management intelligence and integrate AI capabilities that analyze vast amounts of data to identify potential risks, ensuring users maintain FIPS compliance.

PacketGo Inc. is at the forefront of transforming communication security through its cutting-edge zero trust services, tailored to bolster defenses against evolving cyber threats.
