Simplifying Value-Based Care

Patient360

Colin Barry, CEO
Patient360, a CMS Qualified Registry and QCDR, is making significant strides in the healthcare industry by blending emerging technologies with progressive policies to meet the ambitious objectives of Value-Based Care (VBC). Its comprehensive support extends to all aspects of CMS Quality Payment Program (QPP) use cases, including MIPS, MVPs, and ACO eCQM quality reporting (APP). This organization is at the heart of healthcare transformation, aiming to improve patient outcomes and optimize reimbursement through innovative technological solutions.

ACOs and traditional provider organizations submitting MIPS face numerous challenges in the current landscape, primarily due to the evolving and complex nature of VBC. EHR systems, while vital, often operate in silos and fall short of providing the integrated data necessary for comprehensive quality care. Patient360 addresses these challenges by simplifying the QPP for providers, facilitating the timely closing of gaps in care.

As one of the first 16 Registries vetted by CMS, Patient360 is a leader in registry reporting since its inception in 2009. The company is at the intersection of technology and policy that helps providers achieve the lofty goals of value-based care combining health information exchange, emerging standards such as FHIR, and CMS policy. The solution then enables healthcare providers to confidently aggregate, measure, and analyze their clinical data.

“The goal is to simplify VBC initiatives while bringing actionable community-level insights to the point of care,” says Colin Barry, CEO.

Quality reporting is complex and evolving. While EHR vendors keep pace with ONC standards, they lack external data crucial for programs like CMS QPP. Patient360 consolidates cross-community data within its platform, serving as a dedicated registry clearinghouse with a focus on QPP.

It simplifies the QPP challenge, ensuring providers have the tools they need to succeed and helping them avoid costly mistakes.

Patient360 offers access to more than 300 quality measures, including the ability to develop unique QCDR measures. MIPS utilizes numerous measures, like eCQMs from EHRs containing discrete clinical information and CQMs. CQMs are essentially attestations of performance and QCDR are measures developed independently of CMS by QCDR registries. Patient360 works with EHR partners to integrate its registry platform directly inside the EHR, enabling providers to access community-level information and insights at point of care.

Patient360 has generated a remarkable track record of timely and accurate reporting to CMS. As one of the pioneering registries to support ACO eCQM reporting with CMS in 2022, It has achieved a milestone, considering only 37 ACOs reported nationally out of the anticipated hundreds by 2025. This marks a new phase in the QPP program, where it leverages community-level data. This early adoption and the collaborative approach taken with ACO customers to understand and address their challenges highlight the company’s role as a trailblazer in healthcare IT solutions.

CMS continues to evolve the QPP, now with ACO eCQM reporting due in 2025 and next with MVP reporting. This evolution increases the burden, creating demand for healthcare organizations to adopt a next-generation platform.

As we peer into the future of healthcare, the insights gleaned from nearly two decades of experience in health information exchange technology inform Patient360's strategic direction. The company aims to be the leading registry, technology, and vendor in the U.S. and the thought leader in simplifying value-based care, leading to enhanced user experience and improved healthcare outcomes.
