Qvera facilitates health organizations in achieving affordable and meaningful interoperability through its flagship product—The Qvera Interface Engine (QIE). Addressing the interfacing and interoperability challenges of healthcare, QIE allows interfaces to be developed, tested and deployed in no time. QIE’s major differentiator is the ‘Visual Channel Editor,’ which allows users to easily visualize the flow of data through the interface and facilities an intuitive drag and drop user experience for carrying out all interface configurations quickly and efficiently. It visually portrays how the data is received, mapped and routed through the interface to the downstream systems in a graphical flow diagram.
QIE’s exceptional usability extends beyond its Visual Channel Editor. “A primary goal in building QIE was to take what has historically been a difficult and time-consuming task, requiring extensive training and domain knowledge, and boil it down to a set of simple steps that could easily be completed by anyone with basic interfacing knowledge,” shares Shapiro.
Unlike other interface engines, QIE hides the complexities of the data exchange protocols and presents the user with a minimum set of inputs required to achieve the desired outcome. Since its introduction, QIE’s adoption rate has outperformed other interface engines in the healthcare market by showcasing usability and flexibility, benefitting several clients over the years. For instance, Baptist Health Jacksonville, a client of Qvera serving in the Jacksonville, Florida region, wanted to standardize all interfacing on a single platform.
By design, Qvera is a single-product company. “We knew from the get-go that in order to provide the most powerful and flexible interface engine on the market, we had to focus 100 percent of our time and energy on this single product. This focus gives us the ability to react quickly to the ever changing standards and requirements that our customers face and provide them with the tools and functionality they need to quickly adapt and stay ahead,” says Shapiro.

QIE Standard will allow healthcare organizations to get started in meeting their basic interoperability needs without requiring expensive upfront investments
For the future, Qvera will soon be launching a new variant of its interface engine. “We will introduce QIE Standard in the beginning of 2016, which will be made available at no cost and will be limited only by message throughput and total number of interfaces. QIE Standard will allow healthcare organizations to get started in meeting their basic interoperability needs without requiring expensive upfront investments. Once they outgrow the limits of QIE Standard, they can easily transition to QIE Enterprise with subscription plans starting as low as $99 per month,” concludes Shapiro
