“We produce an array of solutions in hardware and software including pre-certified radio modules for flexible migration and intelligent modules that run a customer’s application and handle the load of wireless communication within the network,” said Smith. Silex’s Evaluation Kits (EVKs) are fully integrated, connectivity products which allow a customer to experience the technology and assess their needs to add wireless capabilities into their product. Additionally, Silex’s other products in the connectivity arena offer customers the opportunity to add wireless via an external box solution in a bridge serial device server or USB device server. All of these solutions use the company’s embedded modules that provide high reliability and enterprise security that customers require.

Using Silex Technology’s high-quality, multicast video distribution technology to wirelessly distribute synchronized, full-HD video from one source to multiple locations, the client found a reliable video distribution solution for digital signage. Furthermore, Delphi required a new vendor to provide the AV networking component for its new ruggedized display system. “Our recently developed X1 Multicast Video Distribution System (MVDS) provided an ideal solution for Delphi, giving much greater reliability compared to their prior vendor’s solution. It helped in distributing HD video and stereo audio streams across wired and wireless Ethernet-based networks,” said Smith.

Moving forward, Silex recently launched the SX-ULPAN— an ultra-low-power Wi-Fi module with dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n and industrial temperature support, which is their first module in the IoT space. Furthermore, the firm is designing many additional wireless modules to meet the expanding needs of the market.
