“The lovely thing about cruising is that planning usually turns out to be of little use.”

The quote from Dom Degnan—the author of Sails Full and By—effectively portrays the life of boaters and their sailing endeavours. Boating is a popular recreational activity, and boaters share similar passion, interests, and concerns as they take to the sea, lake or bay alike. However, even the most devoted, conscientious voyagers stumble upon hurdles such as discovering that the boat’s battery is dead, the bilge is filled with water, the anchor is dragging, or in worst cases, the boat is damaged or stolen. Today’s boaters demand a comprehensive solution to efficiently maintain their pride and joy in pristine condition and enjoy their boating plans without spending too much time, money, and effort. With a deep understanding of boating and the challenges it presents, Siren Marine is well-positioned to answer these demands.

A consortium for passionate boaters, marine industry professionals and enthusiasts, Siren Marine provides an array of intelligent IoT sensors and other devices to remotely monitor a boat’s condition from anywhere, at any time. “Our revolutionary connected boat technology ensures that vessels are safe, secure, and always ready to enjoy,” says Daniel Harper, founder and CEO of Siren Marine. The company’s turnkey enterprise solutions provide real-time notifications on entry/security, bilge, battery, engine hours, shore power, and temperature, along with accurate GPS tracking and position alerts in case a boat moves beyond the designated geo-fence. The ‘edge technology’ from Siren Marine features cellular and GPS functions, creating an integrated system that works in synchrony with a multitude of onboard sensors and native marine systems, all running on extremely low power. Boaters can also leverage the Siren Marine technology for implementing smart controls within their boats to perform tasks such as turning batteries on or off remotely, switching on the anchor or courtesy lights while walking down the dock on a dark night, or even controlling the air conditioning before arriving at the boat on a hot day through mobile devices.

Siren Marine, with its team of industry experts, designs everything from the circuit board to the cloud architecture and front-end, native mobile apps, to provide the most stable, robust, and intuitive platform in the industry. These smart products can be deployed across a broad spectrum of boats, encompassing activities such as recreation, fishing, sailing, cruising, and commercial operations.

Every solution from Siren Marine is designed with the ideal customer experience in mind, making it easy-to-use, with plug and play functionalities. In addition, the company also offers a professional service network that assists clients in installing devices and sensors, getting them online, and synchronizing data sets with their respective user accounts. “Our products sport one of the easiest, seamless, and intuitive methodologies to go from unboxing and plugging in, to getting up and running on the app; anybody that is reasonably handy can handle setup and deploy them with minimal effort,” adds Harper. Siren Marine’s robust, dedicated customer support team delivers technical assistance addressing any challenge that may arise.

Siren Marine is currently in the final development stages of its compact and robust third-generation product in an ambitious bid to further reduce manufacturing costs and boost its competitive value across a broader marine market. This innovative technology from the company also finds diverse applications outside the marine industry, especially in generators, agriculture, and construction applications. “After tackling the complexities of the marine application, with the challenges of the harsh marine environment, ultra low power requisite, necessity to work across AC and DC systems, extreme temperatures, multiple CAN environments, analog and digital signals, and remote locations; non-marine IoT is quite simple.” quipped Harper.

Siren Marine announces partnership with Oasis Marinas

Siren Marine and marina management firm Oasis Marinas have teamed up to bring boaters across the mid-Atlantic and northeast region a better, worry-free boating experience.

Through this partnership, Oasis Marinas will sell and promote Siren Marine’s MTC Connected Boat technology through its customer-service-oriented marinas, as a way to bring greater peace of mind to boaters who call an Oasis-managed marina their boat’s on-water home. It will also utilize Siren Marine’s advanced Siren Fleet management portal to monitor and track customer boats, delivering even greater awareness and customer satisfaction.

Oasis Marinas currently manages 20 marinas located in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Connecticut and New York. Oasis Marinas is working aggressively to expand its geographic presence and add more marinas to the family of leading properties it manages. Oasis Marinas has two additional branches to its business; the Snag-A-Slip marina reservation tool and Marina Life magazine, a respected periodical dedicated to helping boaters enjoy the marina lifestyle to the fullest.

“Our goal is to provide a five-star hotel experience at the marinas we manage,” said Dan Cowens, Oasis Marinas CEO. “An important part of this is providing a place where boaters can relax and focus on having a good time on the water. We immediately recognized how Siren Marine’s Connected Boat technology, and the peace of mind it provides boaters, helps us achieve our goal."

Siren Marine’s MTC (Monitor|Track|Control) and exclusive Android and iOS app keep boaters appraised of their boat’s condition and location, from anywhere in the world. The system provides geofence tracking and, using a wide range of available sensors, continuously monitors battery condition, bilge water level, shorepower status, temperature and more. The confidence that comes from knowing your boat is safe, secure and ready to enjoy when you show up is particularly important for boaters who store their vessels in marina slips.

As a cloud-based system that allows for multiple authorized users, Siren Marine’s proprietary Siren Fleet application platform provides the opportunity for marina managers to assist in monitoring tenants’ vessels and notify them of service and maintenance needs — before small problems have time to become large ones. For example, repeated battery voltage alerts might indicate a bad cell requiring battery replacement. By monitoring engine hours, the marina could let a boat owner know when time for scheduled maintenance is approaching.

This partnership, however, is about more than Oasis Marinas properties offering Siren Marine technology to its tenants. It is a true customer experience and marketing partnership with tangible benefits for both sides. For Siren Marine, the combination of exposure through Snag-A-Slip and Marina Life magazine will help the company dominate an important audience of marina-based boaters —the very segment of the market that has the most to gain from Siren Marine technology.

“This partnership truly creates something that is greater and stronger than the sum of its parts,” said Siren Marine Founder and CEO Daniel Harper. “Together, we are on a mission to change the boating experience for the better and enhance the boating lifestyle. By taking the worry out of boating, we will benefit the entire industry. As the saying goes, a rising tide lifts all boats.”
