By 2020, it is estimated that the number of connected devices will cross the 50 billion mark. A majority of these devices will be dominated by low power technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. However, the challenge here is that most of the platforms which serve the need for connectivity address either cellular or satellite, which is small percentage of addressable market of connected devices and does not account for the rapidly increasing low power technologies.

IoT-X, a First of its Kind Multi-connectivity Platform

Headed by its CEO, Nigel Chadwick, Stream Technologies, a provider of wireless connectivity solutions has acted to the industry’s dearth by building a first of its kind connectivity enablement platform called the IoT-X. Specialized as a technology agnostic platform advertising its feasibility to work with all network technologies, IoT-X provides a common connectivity enablement layer that helps enterprises and service providers manage any device regardless of the protocols. Stream’s IoT-X was borne from its high availability Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for data communications over GSM, Satellite and Low Power Wide Area Networks, as well as an easy to use service enablement platform that was developed in 2005 and has evolved into the industry’s most comprehensive connectivity enablement platform .Over the past 14 years, Stream technologies’ has come a long way; from servicing enterprise customers as an M2M MVNO to delivering connectivity solutions for all IoT and M2M related devices.

Stream Technologies has also not lagged behind in provisioning and helping service providers and enterprises capably manage SIM cards online via APIs through OaSys which is one of the most advanced M2M/IoT management platforms available in the industry. The OaSys platform provides unique identification tags for SIMs for easy managing and offers real time SIM usage and monitoring with seamless provisioning for activations and new stock ordering.

Unrivalled Expertise

The expertise that Stream Technologies brings among the diverse M2M/IoT verticals has been unrivalled allowing the firm to deliver an ecosystem of partners amongst embedded device manufacturers, application enablement providers, and data service providers. “Stream’s eco-system of global partners enables our service provider and enterprise customers to deliver innovative end to end IoT solutions rapidly and cost effectively,” says William Podrasky, SVP- Global Business Development, StreamTechnologies. He further adds, “We differentiate largely from our competitors through a connectivity agnostic approach, light API based integrations, and fast implementation, enabling Stream to deploy solutions in weeks versus 6 months or more.”

The firm exhibits deep vertical expertise by delivering solutions across Telematics, Smart Metering, Asset Monitoring, Security, Industrial Control, Smart Cities and many others. With an attractive commercial model, Stream Technologies has always been a leading provider of M2M/IoT solutions for enterprises, delivering solutions that help them effectively compete and exceed their business goals.

On the future roadmap, Stream Technologies continues to innovate on the IoT-X platform and support additional protocols from an industry leader’s perspective. William adds, “We continue to add verticals based on the trends being driven in the industry and also continue to integrate to a diverse cross-section of service providers.
