Today’s supply chains have complex global operations with demanding customers who want their products to be delivered increasingly faster. Visibility throughout the supply chain, from planning through execution needs to be mastered to achieve high supply chain performance. An SAP Services Partner since 1994, Westernacher’s expertise is centered on providing SAP enabled business solutions for organizations that require optimal supply chain performance. “Our major strength is that we cover management consultancy aspects such as processes and change management as well as the corresponding IT solutions. Over the years, business and IT consulting have merged more and more and are increasingly inseparable.” says Wagner.
Westernacher’s key differentiator is offering End-to-End Supply Chain solutions and taking the integration of all SAP’s (SCM) modules into consideration. This brings a large competitive advantage by optimizing the different functions of the supply chain and by creating synergies between those different functions like planning, transportation management, warehouse management and the customer facing functions. Westernacher’s clients are looking for total supply chain solutions that operate seamlessly, globally, in real time and without downtime.

Our major strength is proving management and business process consultancy along with the IT solutions to provide an optimal End-to-End Supply Chain Solution
For example, SAP’s supply chain solutions like EWM and TM have some functions which need to be enhanced for processes used by Logistic Service Providers (LSPs). “Providing these industry specific solutions is very important, because LSPs operate multi-client warehouses and need to be able to provide detailed bills for the different services they provide. That means they need to be able track and bill the required information,” says Wagner. Westernacher provides the necessary add-on solutions to EWM such as the EWM Warehouse Billing Solution for LSPs.
Another example is Westernacher’s product Tangro TM-FWO (Transportation Management – Forwarding Orders), an add-on solution for Transport Management which enables companies to scan and process incoming forwarding orders automatically in SAP. “Not only do we have very detailed knowledge about the different modules, we are also able to provide solutions when we find gaps while mapping out the processes,” explains Wagner.
The company’s global presence in nine countries has added an illustrious list of clientele — Ford, Dr. Pepper, Novartis, Nestle, Intuitive Surgical and Applied Materials among others. Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPSG), an American soft drink company based in Plano, TX for instance needed the right resources to embark on an EWM roll out across all of their facilities. Through implementation of EWM, Westernacher’s consultants helped DPSG to achieve a 25 percent reduction in load times per warehouse, 10 percent reduction in vehicle cycle time and 30 percent increase in worker productivity. “Westernacher came to our rescue; they were able to provide knowledgeable resources and their partnership with SAP is also very strong,” says Venkat Paruchuri, Director of Supply Chain IT, DPSG.
“In the Transportation Management area, SAP TM 9.1 is a now a very strong product, which includes new capabilities such as sourcing, rail planning and execution, especially important for consumer products, retail, chemical and wholesale distribution. We are seeing our SAP TM consulting practice grow rapidly across the globe, and demand for our SAP TM practice in the Americas increasing very fast in 2014. On the planning side, we are excited about our first S&OP on HANA project currently going on at global level,” says Wagner.
